Celebrating Achievement and Valuing Young Voices

During this period, the local youth team has wide survey of Young People Autumn 2018 worked with 75 individual young people aged between 11 and 21 amounting to 677 meaningful contacts

In total there were approx 1172 hours of engagement with young people

And these took place on 57 separate occasions at the following locations

Ardnamurchan High School, Centre, Primary, Primary, Primary, Kilchoan Primary and Primary as well as the Duncansburgh Church.

What’s been happening locally – A vision for high quality youth work across Highland

Rotary Club of – Portrait Artist of the Year: The current Youth Work policy has been in place since 2007, and has stood the test of time. Young people from all over Lochaber were invited to take part in the Portrait Artist of the year competition run the Rotary However, stakeholders including young people, statutory Club of Lochaber. and third sectors have agreed there needs to be a refreshed strategy to reaffirm core youth work principles and reflect Kayla Gordon and Esme Tilling travelled with Youth emerging and changing needs of young Highlanders. Since autumn 2018 much activity has occurred to contribute towards this new youth work strategy – This was a great opportunity for young people to learn new surveys, focus groups, stakeholder engagement and portrait painting skills in pastels with live models.
