The Nordic Media Festival is the largest international media conference in the Nordic region, gathering more than 1500 delegates.

The Nordic Media Festival is a unique conference taking place in scenic Bergen, Norway. Founded in 1988, the festival is a non-commercial foundation which offers a unique arena where the media industry can come together, debating the key issues of today and be updated on the current trends and prophecies for the future. In addition, the festival is an important arena for networking with colleagues from the broad media landscape, both national and international.

Nordic Media Festival provides lectures and debates, workshops, screenings and a separate media fair. In 2010, the conference presented 44 sessions, representing the full spectrum of the industry. The delegates got together to get inspiration and insight, and they review the Nordic Media Festival as being both entertaining, provocative and informative.

Over the years, the conference has established itself as being of the highest quality in regard to professional relevance, current topics and variation in subject matter. The festival in 2011 will offer about 45 sessions, covering the most pertinent subjects; from media policy, development of digital media, communication strategies and future technological challenges, to programme making, ethics, press freedom, content and magazine development.

The conference presents a program where professionals from across the digital media landscape can increase their competence, find new insights and develop creative ideas. In addition, the Nordic Media Festival presents a variety of projects exclusive for high-school students, projects that give youth a unique opportunity to gain insight and access to the media and the media industry. The festival culminates in the prestigious Gullruten Award Show, which is the Norwegian equivalent of the Emmy Awards.
