November 29, 2013 – Laurent Rivard ’14 for 3! Laurent Rivard ’14 sank five 3-pointers in the team’s 76-64 win over Green Bay at the Carrs/Safeway Great Alaska Shootout, moving him past Dan Clemente ’01 as Harvard’s career record holder. Rivard graduated with 287 makes from behind-the-arc and as the program’s all-time leader with 123 games played.

November 30, 2013 – Another Tournament Title in the Books The Crimson jumped out to a 23-point halftime lead and held on down the stretch to defeat TCU, 71-50, and win the 2013 Carrs/Safeway Great Alaska Shootout. Laurent Rivard ’14 hit five-three pointers for the second consecutive night and scored a team-high 15 points to lead the way.

December 5, 2011 – Harvard Enters National Rankings For the first time in program history, the Harvard men’s basketball team is ranked in the AP and ESPN/USA Today Coaches national polls. The Crimson appears at No. 25 in the country in the AP rankings and No. 24 in the coaches poll.

December 7, 1900 - Men’s Basketball Begins At the urging of John Kirkland Clark, a Yale graduate attending , the Athletic Committee officially recognizes the sport of men’s basketball at Harvard. Clark becomes the Crimson’s first captain and coach. Harvard’s first intercollegiate game is a victory, 20-10 over Holy Cross.

December 13, 1972 – Brown ’73 Catches Fire James Brown ’73 scored 36 points on 18-of-27 shooting from the field, setting a program record for most makes in a game as the Crimson outlasted Boston University, 102-92. Brown, who since 2006 has served as host for CBS Television Network’s THE NFL TODAY and is also a Special Correspondent for CBS News, was a three-time All-Ivy League and All-Region selection, and currently ranks 14th in career scoring (1,242) and is fourth in rebounding (747).

December 26, 1977 – Fine ’79 Drops Dimes Glenn Fine ’79 set a then-program record with 15 assists in a 77-69 loss at Detroit. Brian Banks ’78 was the chief beneficiary, scoring 28 points and grabbing 10 rebounds for a double-double. Fine, who would later earn a Rhodes Scholarship before serving 11 years as the Inspector General of the United States, graduated as the program’s all-time leader in assists and currently ranks fourth (559). He was a three-time All-Ivy League selection and earned All-Region honors as a senior.

January 5, 2013 – Amaker Reaches Century Mark Tommy Amaker earns his 100th win as Harvard’s head coach with a 92- 62 victory over Rice at Lavietes Pavilion, becoming the fourth head coach in program history to reach the century mark.
