Deacon Robert Carlton and Deacon Mike Bednarz M First Mass/Mass of Thanksgiving and Ordination Reception All are warmly welcome to join us this Saturday, May 18th at 5:00 P.M. as Deacon Robert Carlton will celebrate his first Mass with us as a newly ordained priest. Our Parish Choir will lead our congregation in song to mark this special occasion both in Deacon Robert’s life and in the life of our parish. The following Saturday, May 25th, our newly ordained Permanent Deacon Mike Bednarz will preach his first homily at our 5:00 P.M. Mass. Afterward, we will host a joint Ordina- tion Reception in our Parish Center. All are welcome to attend. Reservations are required so if you are interested in joining us to celebrate & congratulate our newly ordained, please consult the invitation that appears in our bulletin or visit our parish website for additional details.

Come Celebrate Fr. Ronan's 50th Anniversary of His Ordination Fr. Ronan will be celebrating the 50th anniversary of his ordination to the priesthood here in Chicago at IC (his favorite parish). Please join us for Mass on Saturday, June 1st at 5:00 P.M., with a reception to follow afterwards on our Parish Green- space (in the event of rain, the re- ception will be relocated to the Rec- tory Assembly). Blood Drive Results Twentyfour pints of blood were donated at our recent drive. The following people came to Providence Hall on May 5th to support the blood drive: Don Witz, Joseph Blong, Stan “Tex” Banash, Dan Swagler, John Crow- ley, Steve Callebert, Stacey Rowland, Ted Korda, Barbara Nowak, Eric Larson, Diana Leyhane, Jack Leyhane, Jeff Schuetzner, Mary Rose Zapart, Rita Zambon, Paul Benson, Henrietta Markowski, Brendan McCrudden, Beatriz Feller, Mary Fallon, Christina Suarez, Amy Chun, Patrick Chun, and Suzanne Witz. There were a few deferrals, but also a few dou- ble red blood cell donors to even things out. Thanks and appreciation to all who gave of them- selves to share with others. We had one special do- nor that Sunday who reached her 100th dona- tion. Congratulations to Henrietta Markowski! Our heartfelt gratitude goes out to you. You have helped so many lives in need of blood!
Help Support IC’s School Band! Members of the IC School Band will be selling World’s Finest Chocolate after Masses this weekend, May 18th and 19th, in the church vestibule. Candy bars are $1.00 each. Mike Bednarz Ordained a Deacon May 11, 2019 Last Saturday, 23 permanent and transitional deacons were ordained during Mass at Holy Name Cathedral. Included in the group, was our very own Mike Bednarz. Our warmest congratulations to Deacon Mike and his wife, Melissa! May God bless them abundantly as they faithfully serve our parish in the Diaconate Ministry.
