FLIRTING WITH DISASTER, the wild 1996 Silver Linings Playbook 2012 road comedy, featured the kind of ensemble cast Russell is now known for, American Hustle 2013 including Ben Stiller, , Tomlin, , and more. In 1999, Russell sent up the first Gulf War with THREE KINGS, a satire about war and greed starring . The heady comedy I HUCKABEES, with Jason Schwartzman as a sensitive do-gooder who hires existential See reverse side for more detectives, has reached cult status. information and dates. Each of Russell’s films stand as proof that he is a significant filmmaker and each is an example of the kind of substantive, thought-provoking art that is at the heart of Film Streams’ mission.
