MASTER OF KNOX COLLEGE
The Council of Knox College and Salmond College is looking for a new Head of Knox College.
Knox College is a residential college affiliated to the University of Otago and accommodates approximately 260 undergraduate and postgraduate students. The College is 105 years old and is one of the University’s best-known colleges. It is owned and operated in close association with its sister, Salmond College, by the Presbyterian Church of Aotearoa New Zealand.
This is a rare opportunity for an enthusiastic, practical and experienced leader to manage a multi- disciplined organisation, helping students to balance the academic, cultural and social aspects of University life. This is a full-time, permanent and live-in position. Housing is provided.
To be successful in this role you will need to have:
Significant management experience at a senior level; Strong leadership skills with ability to guide and motivate a diverse team of staff and students; Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills; The ability to inspire young adults and win their respect and confidence; The experience and personal skills to respond appropriately to the complex needs of young adults living away from home for the first time; Strong financial and commercial acumen; An ability to plan and coordinate staff and resources to meet strategic goals; and An understanding of and willingness to work within the ethos and values of the Presbyterian Church.
A relevant tertiary qualification, a high level of professionalism and integrity, as well as experience working with young adults are essential.
