Additionally, the Company has reopened selected retail and dining outlets along The LINQ Promenade, as well as the High Roller Observation Wheel. On Friday, June 5, at 11 a.m. Pacific Time, Harrah's Las Vegas will also resume operations. **For high-res photos and b-roll, click here** Caesars Palace marked the reopening of its main lobby doors to the public with a special moment on the Roman Plaza featuring Caesars Entertainment headliner Wayne Newton, Caesar and Cleopatra of the resort's Royal Court, and Caesars Entertainment CEO Tony Rodio. Newton was the first to welcome guests and introduced Rodio. Rodio reminisced about all the rich memories in Caesars Palace's 54-year history—from the world- famous boxing matches to iconic entertainment including Newton's show at Cleopatra's Barge, and more. In that time, the resort had never closed its doors up until March 17, 2020, and Rodio did acknowledge the country's continued challenging circumstances.

    Station, Caesars, MGM properties approved for 100 percent casino capacity By Bailey Schulz Las Vegas Review-Journal May 12, 2021 - 7:23 am Three of the largest casino operators in Las Vegas can now run their casinos at full capacity. MGM Resorts International, Caesars Entertainment Inc. and Station Casinos are the latest companies to have gaming floor capacity and social distancing restrictions waived by the Nevada Gaming Control Board. The Wednesday announcements mean an additional 24 casinos across the valley to can now operate at full capacity, effective immediately. Industry watchers say the shift is a watershed moment in Las Vegas’ road to recovery. “The more properties that come back to full capacity really signal an end to much of the pandemic for us,” Amanda Belarmino, an assistant professor at UNLV’s college of hospitality, said. “First of all, it will allow people to go back to work. Second, it will speed our economic recovery as a city and a state that will help all of the members of our community. … It is heartwarming to see our world come back.” Return to normalcy A Wednesday statement from MGM Resorts said the gaming floors at Bellagio, Aria, MGM Grand, Mandalay Bay, Park MGM, The Mirage, New York-New York, Luxor and Excalibur can operate at 100 percent of fire code capacity. The casinos had been operating under occupancy restrictions since their reopenings last year. Clark County’s 80 percent occupancy restrictions and 3-feet social distancing policies remain in place outside of the casinos, in areas such as the properties’ restaurants, pools and other nongaming venues.

    082011B City of Las Vegas Economic and Urban Development Department & Redevelopment Agency Economic and Urban Development Introduction Economic and Urban Develpment Department The Economic and Urban Development Department (EUD) creates, coordinates and encourages new development and redevelopment throughout the city of Las Vegas. It increases and diversifies the city’s economic base, and creates jobs, through business attraction, retention and expansion programs. In addition, this newly expanded department now includes employees who oversee and manage local, state and federal grants used to provide public services, develop public facilities and support affordable housing for low income Las Vegas families. The majority of grants are received from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development as part of entitlement funding. These grants are used for homeless services and shelter, senior nutrition, rent assistance and new construction of affordable housing and community centers, to name a few. The EUD coordinates with the city of Las Vegas Redevelopment Agency on day-to-day operations, economic development, job creation and long-term strategic goals. Las Vegas Redevelopment Agency The Las Vegas Redevelopment Agency (RDA) promotes the redevelopment of downtown Las Vegas and surrounding older commercial districts by working with developers, property owners and the community to accomplish beneficial revitalization efforts, create jobs and eliminate urban decay. The Las Vegas Redevelopment Area encompasses 3,948 acres. The area roughly includes the greater downtown Las Vegas area east of I-15, south of Washington Avenue, north of Sahara Avenue and west of Maryland Parkway. It also includes the Charleston Boulevard, Martin L. King Boulevard and Eastern Avenue corridors.
