Dear friend, Please join me for an exclusive Hillsdale College telephone townhall during which I will be answering questions about how Hillsdale is helping to lead a revolution in K-12 education through our Barney Charter School Initiative. My friend Hugh Hewitt and I will be on the phone live on Thursday, December 6 at 7:00 p.m. Eastern Standard Time, and I hope we can count on your participation. You should know that Hillsdale College has started a grassroots revolution in American public education by helping groups of concerned parents and educators start and operate classical K-12 charter schools in their communities. Through the Barney Charter School Initiative, the College serves as a mentor and advisor to these schools and has already helped found 20 classical charter schools in nine states, with additional schools opening each year. Again, this event will take place on Thursday, December 6, at 7:00 p.m. Eastern Standard Time. Please register at the following link and make sure to include a valid phone number including your area code so that we may reach you at the time of the call: www.hillsdale.edu/townhall. The call will last for one hour and there is no cost to participate. We hope you will join us in this conversation about solutions to the crisis in American education.

Warm regards, Non-Emergency Larry P. Arnn President, Hillsdale College : SEE SOMETHING~SAY SOMETHING call Plainville Police 806-747-1616

In October, Sharon Wynkoop Corlette attended the Womenheart Consortium held at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. To be chosen to take part in this four day educational event, the person had to be a woman living with heart disease. Sharon met this criteria in August 2015 after having bypass surgery which created new psath flows of her four blocked coronary arteries. She was one of the approximately fifty other women chosen to attend the consortium. Upon completion of the program Sharon became a Womenheart Champion. This title and education allows her the right to conduct support groups for women with heart disease. It also gives her the ability to speak at functions regarding women and heart disease. Heart Disease, being the number one killer of women, is a little known fact to many people. Having been one of those women with no symptoms that she could recognize as a heart problem, Sharon is now an advocate for women with heart diseases. “Although I will be very supportive of women with heart diseases, my desire is to reach out to younger generation of women before they have heart problems. Having been given a second chance in life, I am ready to work at sharing ideas that could possibly help change habits in younger women’s lives. Changes that could possibly help prevent them from developing heart problems. To contact Sharon Wynkoop Corlette call 860-747-3162. PAGE 12 PLAINVILLE’S HOMETOWN CONNECTION DECEMBER 2018/JANUARY
