Millions of dollars saved over 5 years for Staten Island Commuters Verrazzano-Narrows Bridge In 2014, myself, Senator Andrew Lanza, and Governor Andrew Cuomo were successful in our efforts to create the Verrazzano- Narrows Bridge Resident Discount which keeps tolls at $5.50 for Staten Island residents. Each year the program comes up for renewal and each year I have fought to ensure that critical funding remains in place. We’ve successfully maintained this program, saving Staten Islanders $100 million since its creation and will continue to secure funding going forward.
