Message from the President

Dear Members, Well another month has passed. The snowbirds are starting to come back. Our Tuesday and Friday nights are still doing very well and also our Texas Hold ‘Em card games Many thanks to Festa chairperson Mike DeGuluio and his wife Maureen and all the many volunteers, too many to mention, for all their help with Festa. Too bad the weather couldn’t cooperate. The two weekends before and the two weekends after were both beautiful. We still did well and all present had a great time. Our Chinese Auction was a great success. The prizes were beautiful and plentiful. Everyone attending had a good time, especially those who won a prize or two. Thanks to Virginia, Mickey and Roe and their committees. Our Halloween Dinner Dance was beautiful. The costumes were wonderful. If you didn’t attend, you missed a great time. We still have a few seats on the bus for our Casino Boat trip Nov. 3rd. If you wish to join us, let us know. You can contact the office any week day between 9 am to 12 noon. Due to the resignation of two directors, we will have nominations at our next General meeting to fill those positions. Anyone wishing to become a director please notify our new Election chairperson, Rosanne Vastano or any Board member. Qualifications for this position: You must be a member for one year in good standing and must have attended 3 of the last 7 General meetings. Since we are a working board, you will be expected to open or close the club in rotation on Friday nights. Dinner dances, and outside events. Also man the office at least one day a week when necessary, besides attending 1 or 2 workshops each month and attend all Board and General meetings. The Finance Committee presented the 2012 budget at our last meeting and it was approved by both the Board and the membership. I would like to thank Frank Morelli, Brad Sanguinetti, John Scifo and Tom Mayne for all their time and effort preparing this budget. The holiday season is upon us and many outside events are scheduled. Please help out our volunteer coordinator, Marie Woodward, when called upon to help out with these many events. I hope everyone has a wonderful Thanksgiving. Remember we are open the Friday after Thanksgiving, so if you are tired of turkey, come join us. Until next month, stay well and God bless Pat LaCorte President
