AIRPORT & INTERNATIONAL COMMUNITY KICK OFF HOLIDAY TRAVEL SEASON 30 Minutes of FREE Parking Over Thanksgiving Weekend!!!

SAN FRANCISCO -- The International Airport announced today amenities, discounts and travel tips to take the headache out of holiday travel.

“With more ways to save and more ways to relax, holiday travel at SFO is more enjoyable from the moment you arrive at the airport until you board your flight,” said John L. Martin, Director of San Francisco International Airport. “As the Bay Area’s Airport of Choice, we want to make sure our travelers understand how much we value their time, as well as their patronage.”

Between Friday, November 19 and Sunday, November 28, SFO anticipates more than 840,000 passengers traveling in and out of our gates to hundreds of domestic and more than 90 international destinations.

HOLIDAY TRAVEL TIPS

· Airport arrival times - Passengers on domestic flights should arrive approximately 90 minutes prior to their scheduled departure time. International travelers should arrive at least two hours prior to their scheduled departure time.

· Security checkpoints - SFO has the most advance passenger and baggage screening system in the world. Average wait times for passing through the security checkpoints are less than 10 minutes. During peak travel times passengers may anticipate waits of 15-20 minutes.

AIRPORT AMENITIES & SERVICES

· Personal Services - Indulge in spa treatments at Xpress Spa, the Airport’s first full- service spa, located in the International Terminal, Boarding Area “A”. Designed and operated for airport travelers, Xpress Spa is scheduled to open November 22nd with 18 spa technicians available to provide popular spa services found at five-star hotels including full-body massage, therapeutic foot massage, manicures, pedicures and facials.

Other personal services, such as hair grooming and showers are available at the SFO Hairport. Travelers may also rent DVDs and DVD players for your flight at InMotion Pictures, or even reserve a private nursery room.

· Amenities - Twenty galleries throughout the terminals display a rotating schedule of art, science, historical, and cultural exhibitions. Current exhibits include, “Contemporary Teapots from the Diane and Sandy Besser Collection” (through May 2005) and “Air Hostess: A History of Female Flight Attendants (through February 2005). Also, be sure to visit the Louis A. Turpen Aviation Museum, Berman Reflection Room, SFO Kid’s Spot, Steinhart Aquarium, and Christian Science Reading Room.

· Technology - High speed wireless internet access (Wi-Fi) available throughout SFO from T-Mobile Hot Spot service.

· Shopping - More than 50 retailers open throughout the travel day offer travel essentials and last minute gifts.

BART - Direct service from SFO to San Francisco and the East Bay with a link to at BART’s Millbrae Station Cost: SFO to (Union Square): $4.95, approximately 25 minutes

Caltrain - Weekday/weekend service to Millbrae with connection via BART to and from SFO

SamTrans - Local/express bus service between SFO and Peninsula communities and downtown San Francisco

AirTrain - SFO’s automated people mover, operates 24 hours/day between Airport terminals, garages and the Rental Car Center
