    DEPARTMENT OF INTERCOLLEGIATE ATHLETICS FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE UCLA Baseball September 22, 2011 Contact: Alex Timiraos UCLA BASEBALL WELCOMES 11 NEWCOMERS TO WESTWOOD Incoming class features five pitchers, four infielders, one catcher, one outfielder LOS ANGELES – UCLA baseball head coach John Savage welcomed 10 incoming freshmen and one junior college transfer to campus Thursday as fall quarter classes began in Westwood. Savage’s seventh recruiting class at UCLA features five pitchers, four infielders, one catcher and one outfielder. “These incoming players are fantastic additions to our program, and we are really looking forward to seeing what they can do at the collegiate level,” Savage said. “We have brought in a balanced recruiting class, from a pitcher and position player perspective. Our coaching staff believes that these guys will be able to contribute from the start.” Two of the 11 incoming players, Kevin Kramer and Jake Ehret, were selected in the MLB Draft last June. Kramer, a freshman infielder from Turlock, Calif., was selected in the 25th round of the MLB Draft by the Cleveland Indians. Ehret, a freshman right-hander from San Dimas, Calif., was chosen in the 37th round by the Florida Marlins. Outfielder Eric Filia-Snyder, a four-year varsity standout at Edison High School in Huntington Beach, Calif., twice earned Sunset League MVP acclaim in addition to securing first-team All-CIF accolades as a senior. In addition to Ehret, the group features right-handed pitchers David Berg (Bishop Amat HS), Michael Kerman (Long Beach City College) Zack Ortiz (Cypress HS) and left-hander Grant Watson (Bakersfield Centennial HS).

    1 I PREFACE The North Orange County Regional Occupational Program (NOCROP) 2019 WASC Self-Study Process has been a collaborative effort over the last eighteen months involving various stakeholders. During this time, the WASC Leadership Team facilitated opportunities to reflect on NOCROP’s mission of student success and the Career Technical Education experience we offer. NOCROP’s self-study process began in October 2017 with the review of accreditation criteria by Dana Lynch, Assistant Superintendent of Educational Services. In December 2017, the WASC Executive Team was formed to facilitate the process and Jennifer Prado, Patient Care Pathways Instructor was selected to serve as the 2019 Self-Study Coordinator. The self-study process was officially launched with a WASC Executive Team Meeting in February 2018, where Focus Group Chairs and Co-Chairs were assigned, and timelines were established. Focus Group work related to students and instruction commenced via Professional Learning Community (PLC) meetings during March, April, and May 2018. Individual meetings for the remaining Focus Groups were held during those same months. The focus on reviewing data and reflecting on its meaning has become more important and work was started early. The Educational Services Department provided data updates to instructional staff at the start of PLC meetings and guided them to reflect on its meaning, impact on them individually, and impact to the organization. Further review of data took place during NOCROP’s Back-to- School In-Service in August 2018 and at Spring In-Service in January 2019, which resulted in the implications identified in Chapter 1 of this document.

Open to Girl Scouts in high school, this pinnacle of achievement recognizes girls who demonstrate extraordinary leadership by tackling an issue they are passionate about – Gold Award Girl Scouts are community problem solvers who team up with others to create meaningful change through sustainable and measurable “Take Action” projects they design to make the world a better place. Since 1916, Girl Scouts have been making meaningful, sustainable changes in their communities and around the world by earning the Highest Award in Girl Scouting. Originally called the Golden Eagle of Merit and later, the Golden Eaglet, Curved Bar, First Class, and now the Girl Scout Gold Award, this esteemed accolade is a symbol of excellence, leadership, and ingenuity, and a testament to what a girl can achieve. Girl Scouts who earn the Gold Award distinguish themselves in the college admissions process, earn scholarships from a growing number of colleges and universities across the country, and immediately rise one rank in any branch of the U.S. military. Many have practiced the leaderships skills they need to “go gold” by earning the Girl Scout Silver Award, the highest award for Girl Scout Cadettes in grade 6-8, and the Girl Scout Bronze Award, the highest award for Girl Scout Juniors in grades 4-5.
