1. Tourist Arrivals
From 1st January 2021 to 11th March 2021, a total of 220,840 tourists arrived in the Maldives.
The top source market for the tourist arrival was India with 52,201 arrivals, followed by Russia with 47,680 tourist arrivals. Ukraine stood third with 14,553 tourist arrivals. Other top source markets include Kazakhstan, Germany, Romania, Czech Republic, France, Switzerland and United Kingdom.

Tourist Arrival Spikes up as Markets Con�nue to Recover
On its journey to recovery, Maldives has been able to achieve over 100,000 visitors in a span of a month. Arrival numbers surpassed the 200,000 mark on 4th March 2021, exactly one month since arrivals surpassed 100,000 on the 4th of February. As of 10th March 2021, the total number of arrivals to the Maldives reached 220,840 with a daily average of 3,201 tourists per day.
Markets are recovering with impressive results. As of 10th March 2021, the Central/Eastern Europe and South Asia region both surpassed pre-COVID levels, pos�ng above average growth rates of +81% and +45% respec�vely. Individual markets within the Central/Eastern European region are also performing with outstanding results as new markets emerge from this region and making it to top 10 list.

South Asia 38114 55,156 44.7 Ministry of Tourism Launches Tourism Golden Jubilee Year Logo The Ministry of Tourism has unveiled the logo which will be used to celebrate and promote the country’s Golden Jubilee Year of Tourism. The year 2022 will mark the 50th anniversary for Maldives tourism industry. Industry pioneers and partners gathered for this inaugura�on ceremony.
The logo was launched at a virtual event held on 10th March 2021. The logo was inaugurated by tourism industry pioneer and Chairman of Maldives Associa�on of Tourism Industry (MATI), Honorable Mohamed Umar Mani, who played an instrumental role in introducing tourism in Maldives in back in the 1970s.

Honorable Ahmed Mujuthaba also addressed the gathering. Apart from this, the Managing Director of Maldives Marke�ng and Public Rela�ons Corpora�on, Mr. Thoyyib Mohamed and the President of Guesthouse Associa�on Mr. Abdulla Nasheed spoke at the ceremony.
The ceremony was concluded by Minister of Tourism, Honorable Dr. Abdulla Mausoom. In his speech he highlighted the need for local par�cipa�on and empowerment in the tourism industry of Maldives.
The logo was designed by Ahmed Nashath and Mohamed Azlif, and symbolizes the Maldives’ rich environment, culture and heritage.
