Applications for Today
1. Jesus is the Lord’s servant who brings hope to the nations (42:1-4; Mt. 12:18-21).
2. Only the Lord can declare the things that will happen before they come to pass (42:9; Isa. 48:4-7).
3. It is good to sing praises to the Lord (42:10-12; Heb. 13:15).
4. The Lord’s people can be spiritually blind and deaf (42:18-22; Mt. 13:14-15).
5. It is important to learn from the past concerning how God deals with his people (42:23; 1 Cor. 10:5-12; Heb. 4:1-11; Jude 5-7).
