Minimum Presence Has Four Requirements 1. Link Your Vitae from the HB2504 Website 2 Minimum Presence has four requirements 1. Link your vitae from the HB2504 Website 2. Link your syllabus from the HB2504 website* 3. Include Information in the Instructor Information Block in top block (Topic 0) 4. Use eCourses gradebook *As Graduate classes do not have syllabi posted to HB2504, syllabi for those classes will be uploaded rather than linked into eCourses. Faculty teaching only graduate classes will need to upload, rather than link, their vitae as well. This process should be repeated for all classes you are assigned to teach each semester. This document covers Standards 1 – 3. For information on using the gradebook see CIITS Gradebook Webpage. For additional assistance on meeting standards 1 -3 visit the Minimum Presence Standards Webpage. Note: Before working through this document upload your Vitae and Syllabi for all undergraduate classes into the HB2504 website for the current term. See your administrative associate for detailed procedures. These standards apply to: • Undergraduate and graduate lecture classes with two or more students • Lab classes with two or more students that do not have a lab associated, for example KINE activity classes. Exemptions • Classes with one student • Independent studies • Practicums • Thesis • Dissertations • Internships (unless used to deposit assignments) • Labs where the content and grades are posted in the associated lecture class Center for Instructional Innovation and Technology Services 3/15/20 Meeting Minimum Presence Access classes in eCourses • Using either Chrome or Firefox (Avoid using Internet Explorer, Edge) • Type ecourses.pvamu.edu into the URL box as shown below and click enter • Click Login • Enter credentials (same as used for PVPlace, email, Pantertracks, etc.) 3/15/20 Page 2 of 14 Meeting Minimum Presence • Click on the name of the class “shell” you want to work with. 3/15/20 Page 3 of 14 Meeting Minimum Presence • Structure of eCourses Content Pane • Lower Half of Topic 0 Block 3/15/20 Page 4 of 14 Meeting Minimum Presence • Enable Editing (This will allow you to make changes to your eCourses shell) o Click the down arrow next to the Header Gear o Click Turn Editing on • The Turn editing on is a toggle switch. If the menu says Turn editing off, editing is already on. 3/15/20 Page 5 of 14 Meeting Minimum Presence Minimum Presence Standard 1 Linking Faculty Curriculum Vitae to HB2504 File Before completing Minimum Presence Standards 1 & 3, Vitae and Syllabus for all courses must be uploaded to the HB2504 website. See your department admin to assistance on uploading if necessary. • Click on the hyperlink for Faculty Curriculum Vitae to open the HB2504 Page • Scroll down until you see the fields below (if necessary) • Change Semester to Current Semester (if necessary) – usually defaults to current term 1. Enter your last name under Instructor Name 2. Click Search 3/15/20 Page 6 of 14 Meeting Minimum Presence After clicking Search 1. Right click next to your name (For Vitae, any link works) 2. Click Copy link address 3/15/20 Page 7 of 14 Meeting Minimum Presence Return to the eCourses Tab by clicking on it at the top of the browser window • Scroll down to Faculty Curriculum Vitae (if necessary) • Click on the Edit button on the right side of the Faculty Curriculum Vitae Page • Then Click Edit Settings • The following will display Clear the Contents in the External URL box (highlight it and click delete) With cursor sitting in External URL box – type Crtl-V or right click and choose Paste 3/15/20 Page 8 of 14 Meeting Minimum Presence Scroll down to the bottom of the box and click Save and return to course. • Notice icon for Curriculum Vitae has changed to a PDF symbol Note: If you have multiple classes to update, open notepad and copy the address for the vitae into it, that way you don’t have to go through this process for every class. Just keep notepad open and copy and paste as you move from class to class. 3/15/20 Page 9 of 14 Meeting Minimum Presence Minimum Presence Standard 2 Link Course Syllabus to HB2504 File These steps assume you have just completed linking the Vitae and still have the HB2504 tab open next to eCourses. • Open Editing on Course Syllabus • Return to HB2504 Tab in Browser • Note: If you closed the HB2504 pane, reopen a second tab to: pvamu.edu/hb2504. You will also need to input your name again in the search box. See Standard 2: Linking Vitae to HB2504 document for more details if necessary. 3/15/20 Page 10 of 14 Meeting Minimum Presence Hover mouse over the Course you are currently working in. Unlike Vitae, each syllabus must match its course. A hand image (not shown) may appear depending on your browser settings. Right Click on Name and Click Copy link address • Return to eCourses Tab 3/15/20 Page 11 of 14 Meeting Minimum Presence • Highlight default text and click Crtl-V to replace Repeat process for each class starting with Vitae steps. Syllabi for Graduate Courses Graduate courses do not have syllabi uploaded into the HB2504 website. Therefore, the only option is to upload a copy of the syllabus into eCourses. The easiest method is to drag and drop from your desktop into eCourses. In the example above the Syllabus is named in HB2504 convention. To maintain consistency across all classes for students please change it to Course Syllabus by clicking Edit à Edit Settings and changing name to Course Syllabus. Scroll down as click on Save and return to course. 3/15/20 Page 12 of 14 Meeting Minimum Presence Minimum Presence Standard 3 Updating Instructor Information • Return to Topic 0 by clicking general in Breadcrumbs in Header Block • Click Edit, then Edit Settings on the Instructor Information (Note: it’s the second edit) • Type in the Instructor Information • Some of the information will remain the same from class to class. Copy the basic text into notepad and then edit as necessary for each course using Crtl-C to copy and Crtl-V to paste. 3/15/20 Page 13 of 14 Meeting Minimum Presence • Scroll Down and click save and Display Sample of Correct Setup Meeting Minimum Presence 3/15/20 Page 14 of 14 .

  • An Interactive Toolkit Library for 3D Applications: It3d
Eighth Eurographics Workshop on Virtual Environments (2002) S. Müller, W. Stürzlinger (Editors) An Interactive Toolkit Library for 3D Applications: it3d Noritaka OSAWA†∗, Kikuo ASAI†, and Fumihiko SAITO‡ †National Institute of Multimedia Education, JAPAN *The Graduate University of Advanced Studies, JAPAN ‡Solidray Co. Ltd, JAPAN Abstract An interactive toolkit library for developing 3D applications called “it3d” is described that utilize artificial reality (AR) technologies. It was implemented by using the Java language and the Java 3D class library to enhance its portability. It3d makes it easy to construct AR applications that are portable and adaptable. It3d consists of three sub-libraries: an input/output library for distributed devices, a 3D widget library for multimodal interfacing, and an interaction-recognition library. The input/output library for distributed devices has a uniform programming interface style for various types of devices. The interfaces are defined by using OMG IDL. The library utilizes multicast peer-to-peer communication to enable efficient device discovery and exchange of events and data. Multicast-capable CORBA functions have been developed and used. The 3D widget library for the multimodal interface has useful 3D widgets that support efficient and flexible customization based on prototype-based object orientation, or a delegation model. The attributes of a widget are used to customize it dynamically. The attributes constitute a hierarchical structure. The interaction-recognition library is used to recognize basic motions in a 3D space, such as pointing, selecting, pinching, grasping, and moving. The library is flexible, and the recognition conditions can be given as parameters. A new recognition engine can be developed by using a new circular event history buffer to efficiently manage and retrieve past events.
