Fundraising Frequently Asked Questions 4500 W. Tropicana Avenue, , NV 89103 702-365-7469 • www.orleansarena.com/fundraising

“How many members does our group need to participate?” We suggest groups have a volunteer pool of at least 15-20 volunteers over the age of 18. Th is does not mean that all of them must work at once - our permanent concession stands vary in size and location. Depending on where your group is assigned, you will need to provide at least 8 people per event.

“How oft en will we work?” Most groups work 2 - 4 events per month. Our monthly availability sheet lists the following month’s scheduled events with reporting times. Th e sheets need to be returned as soon as possible in order to ensure consideration for working events. Please note that these sheets are only requests to work events, not guarantees for working requested events.

“How long is a work shift ?” Shift s are dependent upon the length of the event itself. Typically, a volunteer group will be asked to ar- rive one hour prior to when doors open for the event (usually two hours prior to event start). Volunteers are expected to assist with the clean-up of the stand at the end of the event, which averages approximate- ly 30 minutes. From start to fi nish, shift s average between 5 - 8 hours.

“Will serving beer be part of our responsibilities?” Yes - during most events, beer is sold out of the concession stands. All volunteers working as cashiers must have a State Alcohol Awareness certifi cate (TAM Card). Since the majority of our events sell beer, all groups must comply with the State of Nevada’s alcohol selling policies and procedures.

“What is the minimum age requirement to work in a concession stand?” Anyone working as a cashier must be at least 21 years of age or older and must possess a valid Nevada State Alcohol Awareness (TAM) card. Everyone else working in the stand must be at least 18 years of age.

“Will this position require training?” Yes - we ask volunteers to attend a mandatory three-hour orientation/skills training class. Additionally, everyone not certifi ed as an alcohol server must attend a four-hour alcohol training class in order to be certifi ed.

“What kind of events will we be staffi ng?” Volunteer groups are eligible to staff any event held at Arena. Hockey, , concerts, circuses - you name it, the Orleans has it, and your group can be a part of it!

“How much money can our group earn?” Th e total donation amount is dependent upon a lot of factors - these include the type of event, attendance for the event, which stand your group is staffi ng and, of course, the appetite of Orleans guests. Regardless of these items, your group will always earn 12% of the sales of the concession stand aft er taxes - the highest percentage in Las Vegas! On average, a group working four events per month will earn approximately $1,500 per month.

“What about parking?” Volunteers are responsible for parking in allocated parking areas. Th e Orleans Arena has designated staff parking on the North West side of the building.

“What will our uniform be?” We require all employees, volunteers or offi cial Orleans staff , to wear long black slacks or pants, socks and closed-toe black shoes (such as black tennis shoes). You can help promote your organization by wearing organization-branded polo shirts and hats - however, all volunteers must wear the same shirt and hat. Orleans Arena Food & Beverage Management will approve all uniforms in advance. Blue jeans are never permitted.

“How do we know which events we will work?” Th e volunteer groups will be notifi ed of all events for which they are scheduled by mail, phone, fax or email - whichever is most convenient. All volunteer groups will be notifi ed by no later than the 20th of the previous month.

“Can we watch the event?” Volunteers should concentrate on raising funds for their organization and maintaining the stand they have been assigned - they are not permitted to enter the arena to watch while working an event.
