Hershey Park: Sky Rush's airtime is the name of the game Author : If you're looking for a thrill, look no further than Skyrush at Hersheypark. The 2012 coaster from Intamin is one of the most extreme coasters I've been on. Not so much for the height or speed, but the insane amount of airtime you get. Regarding airtime, this is a top coaster for me. I'd put it in the same class as Diamondback at Kings Island. Skyrush really is a rush, and it's easily one of the best hyper coasters in North America. Of course, Skyrush is more than just a hyper coaster. It's also a wing coaster. While I didn't get the chance to ride on the two wing seats, it's got to be an awesome feeling, especially on a ride with so much airtime. The hope is next time I visit Hersheypark I'll take a ride on the wing. Related Post: Viper Is An Underrated Gem At Six Flags Great America As for the ride itself, Skyrush is a really good coaster. I've mentioned the airtime to death, but you really can't say it enough. With only a lap bar restraint, you'll feel the ejector airtime. The only issue I had with the restraints is that they come down hard on your legs. It's a harrowing feeling going down some of those airtime hills. It's said that second hill on Skyrush puts out -2 G's. That's quite an impressive feat, and you can tell when you're on the coaster. To be honest, I found this coaster to be more intense than rides such as Millennium Force and Leviathan. I'm not entirely sure, but there weren't very many elements on Skyrush. I had to check Roller Coaster Database to confirm my suspicion, and all they list is a cable lift hill. You're going so fast ( 75 mph) and go over so many airtime hills. It's hard to catch your breath and really know what's going on around you. 1 / 2 I really did enjoy Skyrush. While not my favorite coaster of all-time, it certainly impressed me enough to crack my top-6. If you're at Hersheypark, make it a point to ride Skyrush, as the airtime alone is worth the price of admission. 2 / 2 Powered by TCPDF (www.tcpdf.org).
