FOR EX‐SERVICEMEN ON DEPUTATION/RE‐ EMPLOYMENT : Armed forces personnel of the rank of Lt. Col./Major or equivalent who are due to retire or to be transferred to reserve within a period of one year and possessing experience in intelligence and intelligence liaison work shall also be considered. 8. Assistant 26 20% by Promotion Deputation/Absorption : Commissioner 80% by deputation/ of Security absorption/ Re‐ Officers under Central Government or (CA) employment State Governments or Union Territory or Central Police Organizations (a) (i) Holding analogous post on regular basis in the parent cadre or department ; or (ii) Holding five year service in the grade rendered after appointment thereto on regular basis in Pay Band‐II ( Rs.9300‐34,800/‐) with grade pay 4600/‐ or Equivalent in the parent cadre or department; and (b) Possessing the following educational qualification and experience (i) Degree from a recognized University or equivalent; (ii) Three years experience in matter relating to security or intelligence including framing or implementation of policies. Deputation or Re‐employment (For Armed Forces personnel) The Armed Forces personnel holding the rank of Lieutenant or Captain or equivalent who are due to retire or to be transferred to reserve within a period of one year and possessing the qualifications and experience as indicated above shall also be considered. If selected, such officers will be given deputation terms upto the date on which they are due for release from the Armed Forces; thereafter they may be continued on re‐employment terms. In case such eligible officers have retired or have been transferred to reserve before the actual selection to the post is made their appointment will be on re‐ employment basis. 9. Asstt. Sub Inspector 11 By Promotion failing Transfer/ transfer on deputation: which by transfer on Officers from Central Police Organizations deputation or State or Union Territory Police Officers in failing both by the rank of:‐ transfer. i) Sub‐Inspector of police or Equivalent; or ii) Assistant Sub‐Inspector of police or equivalent with five years regular service in the grade. 12. Staff Car Driver 02 Promotion failing Head Constable/ Constable from Central Grade‐II which by deputation Police organization / State Government Police/ Union Territory Police having minimum 09 years of regular service with 5 years experience of Driving a motor vehicle with the experience / qualification mention below:‐ (i) must have a valid Driving license for heavy /light motor vehicle. (ii) Must be able to read English Numeral and figures, (iii) must have a thorough knowledge of Traffic Regulations, (iv) must have good knowledge of petrol and diesel engine working and be able to locate faults and rectify minor running defects. 17 Staff Car Driver 03 Promotion failing Constable Drivers from Central Police Ordinary Grade which by deputation organization / State Government Police organisation / Union Territory Police with minimum 05 years of regular service and having the experience qualifications as mentioned below:‐ (i) Must have a valid Driving license for heavy /light motor vehicle with minimum of 3 years Driving a motor vehicle. (ii) Must be able to read English Numeral and figures, (iii) Must have a thorough knowledge of Traffic Regulations, (iv) Must have good knowledge of petrol and diesel engine working and be able to locate faults and rectify minor running defects. Ex‐Servicemen on re‐employment:‐ The Armed Forces Personnel due to retire or who are to be transferred to reserve within a period of one year and having requisite experience and qualification prescribed shall also be considered. Such person would be given deputation terms upto the date on which they are due for release from the Armed Forces. They may be continued on re‐employment. 18.     1 MINISTRY OF : HOME AFFAIRS (Department of : CENTRAL RESERVE POLICE FORCE) The Central Reserve Police Force Rules/Regulations/Scheme,1955. 1* S.R.O. 499 dated 24th February, 1955:- In exercise of the powers conferred by section 18 of the Central Reserve Police Force Act, 1949,(66 of 1949), the Central Government hereby makes the following rules, namely:- 1. Title: These Rules may be called the Central Reserve Police Force Rules. 1955. 2. Definitions: In these Rules, unless the context otherwise requires: (a)"The Act" means the Central Reserve Police Force Act, 1949 (Act No. 66 of 1949); (b)"Commandant" means the Commandant appointed to the Force; (c)"Deputy Inspector General of Police" means an officer who has been notified by the Central Government as Deputy Inspector General of Police for the Force: (d)"Detachment" includes any part of the Force required or ordered to proceed on duty away from headquarters, (dd)"Director General" means the Director General of the Force appointed by the Central Government through whom the superintendence of, and control over, the Force of the Central Government shall be exercised and who shall, subject to any instructions that the Central Government may give, administer the Force in accordance with the provisions of the Act and of these or other rules; (Inserted vide GSR-3117 dated 15.7.71) (e)"The Force" means the Central Reserve Police Force; (ee)"Additional Director General" means an officer who has be appointed by the Central Government as Additional Director General of Police for the Force and who shall subject to supervision and control and directions of the Director General perform such functions and exercise such financial and other powers as may be authorised by the Director General by general or special order and exercise such financial powers as may be delegated to him by the Central Government.

    Status: This is the original version (as it was originally enacted). Dogs Act 1871 1871 CHAPTER 56 An Act to provide further Protection against dogs. [24th July 1871] WHEREAS it is expedient that further protection should be provided against dogs: Be it enacted by the Queen's most Excellent Majesty, by and With the advice and consent of the Lords Spiritual and Temporal, and Commons, in this present Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows: 1 Stray dogs may detained and sold or destroyed. From and after the passing of this Act any police officer or constable may take possession of any dog that he has reason to suppose to be savage or dangerous straying on any highway, and not under the' control of any person, and may detain such dog until the owner has claimed the same, and paid all expenses incurred by reason of such detention. Where the owner of any dog taken possession of by any constable is known, a, letter, stating the fact of such dog having been taken possession of, shall be sent by post or otherwise to the owner at his usual or last known place of abode. When any dog taken in pursuance of this Act has been detained for three clear days where the owner is not known as aforesaid, or for five clear days where lie is so known, without the owner claiming the same, and paying all expenses incurred by its detention, the chief officer of police of the district in which such dog was found may cause such dog to be sold or Any moneys arising from the sale of any dogs hi pursuance of this section shall be paid to the account of the local rate, and be applied to the purposes to which that rate is applicable.

The powers and responsibilities of the union and states are demarcated in the Constitution of India. Article 246 of the Constitution distributes the legislative powers between the Parliament and the State Legislative Assemblies.     A Guide to the Archives of the Police Forces of England and Wales Ian Bridgeman Clive Emsley FORWARD BY THE PATRON OF THE POLICE HISTORY SOCIETY, LORD KNIGHTS, CBE, QPM, DL Clive Emsley and Ian Bridgeman have performed a great service in bringing out this comprehensive guide to the police archives of England and Wales, and revealing the wide range that these cover. Given the ravages of time, police mergers, weeders and weevils, coverage is necessarily uneven so that, for example, nothing survives in the Gloucester police archives which dates from before 1929 whereas Cambridge has records going back to 1822. The Cambridgeshire Constabulary is also exceptional in the number of documents which it has retained from the 1830's and 1840's, since police records do not generally pre-date the compulsory establishment of the new police following the 1856 Police Act. Many of the surviving records have already been deposited in local record offices, but what this guide reveals for the first time is the very wide range of the material which remains in police archives - some of it in a very poor state of preservation and much of it unindexed. In particular, most forces - for obvious internal, bureaucratic reasons - seem to have retained their personnel registers which, since they often run consecutively for a hundred or more years, provide an invaluable source for research into family, medical or migration history. Unfortunately, police stations do not always make ideal quarters for such valuable but fragile records. Space is often at a premium, as of course is the financial support necessary for proper conservation.
