To make matters worse, Madame Goldentrill and Miss Silverpeal duke it out for star status, but in the end everyone comes to their senses to proclaim that, in artistic endeavors, it’s “one for all and all for one!” SOLOIST BIOGRAPHIES For Mr. Murphy’s biography, please see your program book. Martha Eason (Miss Silverpeal) Martha Eason, soprano, is a first-year master’s student at the Indiana University’s Jacob School of Music. Her recent credits include Handel’s Xerxes as Atalanta with IU Opera Theater, Mozart’s Die Zauberflöte as the Second Spirit with Ash Lawn Opera, and Offenbach’sOrfée aux Enfers with University of Virginia Opera Viva. Eason has performed as a featured soloist with the Charlottesville and University Symphony Orchestra. In 2011, she received her bachelor’s degree in music and arts administration from the University of Virginia, graduating with highest distinction from the McIntire Department of Music’s Distinguished Majors Program. Eason is a student of Costanza Cuccaro. Katelyn Lee (Madame Goldentrill) Soprano Katelyn Lee is a native of Springfield, Mo., currently pursuing a Doctor of Music in Voice Performance at the Jacobs School of Music. She received her Bachelor of Music degree from University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music, where she performed the roles of Queen of the Night in Mozart’s Die Zauberflöte,Fire in Ravel’s L’enfant et les sortileges, and Diana in Offenbach’sOrpheus in the Underworld. With IU Opera Theater, Lee performed her second Queen of the Night, as well as Sister Genevieve in Puccini’s Suor Angelica. Other credits include the role of Thi Mau in the 2011 world premiere of composer P. Q. Phan’s opera, The Tale of Lady Thị Kính, and Cunegonde in Bernstein’s Candide. She performed the role of Frog Juror at Opera Theatre of Saint Louis as a Gerdine Young Artist for the 2012 season. Most recently at IU, Lee performed the role of Romilda in Handel’s Xerxes. She will perform the role of Countess in Mozart’s Le Nozze di Figaro this coming fall. Lee has been a soloist in choral works such as Monteverdi’s Vespro della Beata Vergine 1610 and Handel’s Dixit Dominus and Judas Maccabeus with the Indianapolis Baroque Orchestra. She currently holds an associate instructor of voice position at Jacobs and is a student of Costanza Cuccaro. Andrew LeVan (Mr. Angel) Andrew LeVan is in his third year of study for a master’s degree in vocal performance and is a current student of Brian Horne. As a performer, he has been seen as Mayor Upfold in IU Opera Theater’s production of Benjamin Britten’s Albert Herring, the Dean of Faculty in Massenet’s Cendrillon, and, most recently, as a Priest in Philip Glass’s Akhnaten. LeVan has performed with the Ohio Light Opera and Indiana Festival Theater in addition to his work with IU Opera. He received his bachelor’s degree in vocal performance from the College of Wooster. David-Aaron Roth (Mr. Scruples) David-Aaron Roth is a recent graduate of IU’s Department of Theatre & Drama Department, where he appeared in A Steady Rain (Joey), Intimate Apparel (Mr. Marks), Richard III (Rivers/Brandon), and A Midsummer Night’s Dream (Snug). His other productions include 9 Circles (Army Attorney) and Knives in Hens (William). A recipient of the Colleen Alexander Memorial Scholarship, Roth is from Atlanta, Ga. Adam Walton (Mr. Bluff) Bass-baritone Adam Walton, a native of Orem, Utah, is a doctoral student pursuing his degree in vocal performance as a student of Costanza Cuccaro. He received his bachelor’s degree from Brigham Young University, where he was named the 2009 male singer of the year. He received his master’s degree from Indiana University. His stage credits include Dr. Bartolo (Le Nozze di Figaro), the Four Villains (Les Contes d’Hoffmann), Simone (Gianni Schicchi), Gauguin (Vincent), Su Cu (The Tale of Lady Thị Kính), Marco (A View from the Bridge), Superintendent Budd (Albert Herring), and, most recently, Leporello (Don Giovanni). He will appear in the title role of Le Nozze di Figaro with IU Opera Theater this fall.
