Christian Music Festival

The Christian Music Festival occurs annually and celebrates freedom and faith. Music, drama and arts from a variety of churches can be enjoyed at this festival.

Canadian National Exhibition

The Canadian National Exhibition, also known as The Ex, is another annual event that takes place at the in Toronto from August 2nd to September 2nd. This is Canada’s largest fair, with about 1.5 million visitors each year! Games, music, food and much more can be enjoyed at this fun fair.

When: August 2nd 2019 – September 2nd, 2019

Cabbagetown Farmers Market

This local farmer’s market features local farmers and fresh, organic produce. From baked goods to fresh fruits, many delightful treats can be found here. This local farmers markets takes place in Riverdale Park West. Be sure to check out Cabbagetown’s other gem, , as it is right next to the Farmer’s Market and can be enjoyed for free!

When: Every Tuesday from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. The markets runs from June 2019 to October 2019

Toronto Dragon Festival

The Canadian Chinese Cultural lExperience can be seen at Nathan Phillips Square. This festival was so well received when it first happened in 2018 that it is back by popular demand. This festival will be full o speciality food, traditional music, ongs, drums, filk dances, art, craft and, of course, dragons!

When: September 6th, 2019 – September 8th, 2019

Where: Nathan Phillips Square.

14th annual Caribbean Tales International Film Festival

This film festival has a great lineup of Caribbean films that will be showcased over eight presentation nights. This will be the 14th annual festival dedicated to supporting films featuring Caribbean culture and stories.

When: September 4th, 2019 - September 20th, 2019

Where: The Royal Cinema

Cabbagetown Art and Crafts Fair 31st annual sale

You can find all kinds of local goods at this lovely art and crafts fair. From ceramics and textiles to paintings and household goods, there is bound to be something here for you. Whether you just want to come to check out the vendors or to buy some goods, it’s definitely worth a visit!

Veg Food Fest

This festival, curated by the Toronto Vegetarian Association will take place at Harbourfront Centre. Entrance is free and there will be +160 vendors selling plant-based foods, as well as +50 hours of FREE programming. If you’ve ever been curious about vegetarian food, here’s your chance to give it a try!

When: September 6th, 2019 – September 8th, 2019

Where: 253 Queens Quay West Toronto Cabbagetown Festival

Cabbagetown is a ten-minute walk from Sherbourne Place and is a very diverse neighborhood. The Cabbagetown Festival celebrates local businesses, guest vendors, artists and entertainers. Come out to enjoy delicious food, Canadian craftmanship, live music and more!

Where: Parliament Street from Wellesley to Gerrard.

Toronto Book and Magazine Festival

The Toronto Book and Magazine Festival takes place in Harbourfront Centre and is a one-day event. Entry is free and there will be author readings, discussions, activities and a marketplace that claims to have the best selection of Canadian books and magazines.

When: September 22nd, 2019 from 11:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.

Does your loved one require 1:1 visits with a volunteer?

Volunteers at Sherbourne Place can spend time with your loved one while engaging in various leisure activities such as outdoor strolls in the backyard or courtyard, a visit to Our Lady of Lourdes Church, a trip to the library or coffee shop, reading and reminiscing.

If you would like to sign your loved one up for 1:1 volunteer visits please contact the Life Enrichment Staff on your floor.
