Namibian banks will be hit by the implementation of General Sales Tax and the Debit Duty Act. Following lengthy discussions with Finance Minis ter Gert Hanekom last week, the CBA said while it was not against the principle of imposing new taxes, it was "disconcerted by the fact that so little timl!' was af forded to its (CBA) members for the practical implem entation of these taxes" . A SOUTH African woman headed for Wind hoek with two kilograms of cocaine in her possession was apprehended at South Afr i ca's Jan Smuts airport on August 11.
