Dear Mr Zang,

F0011863 – See any outstanding contracts for IBM and

I am writing regarding your request for information, which I received on 19 November 2014. In that request, you asked us for

I would like to make a request under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 to see any outstanding contracts between your department and the following companies: Serco Capita IBM Atkins

Please could this information include the length of each contract, the value of each contract, and the names of the short-listed companies who also bid on these contracts?

I wrote to you on 20th November 2014 to clarify what you meant by “see any” and “outstanding contracts” and which parts of the Department you required the information for. You confirmed via email on 21st November that you wanted the information in table format, details of contracts in the “procurement process as well as those in force”. You also confirmed you would restrict this request to just SERCO and Capita and restrict the value of the contracts to only those above £25 million in value.

At the time that your request was received and the time period you are asking the information on DFT consisted of a central HQ organisation (DfT(c)) and seven Executive Agencies as follows:

Page 1 of 5 FOI F0011863 Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency (DVLA) Driving Standards Agency (DSA) *See Note 1 Government Car Service (GCS) *See Note 2 Highways Agency (HA) Maritime and Coastguard Agency (MCA) Vehicle Certification Agency (VCA) Vehicle and Operator Services Agency (VOSA) *See Note1

Note 1 – DSA and VOSA merged on 04/04/2014 and is now called the Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA).

Note 2 – GCS was formally known as the Government Car and Despatch Agency. Its name was changed to the Government Car Service and was merged back into the Central part of DfT on 1st October 2012.

This response covers the whole Department.

I am writing to confirm that the Department does hold the information you requested and the information regarding current in “force” contracts is contained in the attached Annex A. The Department has no contracts for the value above £25 million for SERCO and Capita that are in the “procurement process”.

If you are unhappy with the way the Department has handled your request or with the decisions made in relation to your request you may complain within two calendar months of the date of this letter by writing to the Department’s Information Rights Unit at:

Zone D/04 Ashdown House Sedlescombe Road North Hastings East Sussex TN37 7GA E-mail: [email protected]
