Eisenhower Golf Club 2020 EISENHOWER GOLF CLUB 2020 Home of the USGA Girls’ Junior Championship. Come see the best under 19 year-olds in the world. This historic event will be the first USGA tournament held on a military course in their 124 year history. July 11-18. FREE ADMISSION Volunteer opportunities available at usga.org JUNIOR GOLF ACADEMY Our program is geared to creating life-long lovers of golf by providing positive experiences for aspiring junior golfers, ages 7-18. We set high standards to preserve the integrity and traditions of the game. Our student-to- instructor ratio is 6:1. SUMMER CAMPS Two camps are offered this summer: Mon-Fri, June 1-5 and June 22-26. Lessons are 90 minutes long and are held daily for the entire week. Active duty can sign up beginning Mon., April 13, non-active duty starts Tue, April 14. Sign up begins at 7 am on both dates. You must register in person at the golf course. Proof of age and eligibility are required. Juniors who do not have clubs may purchase a set at a special junior golf price during registration. From completion of the program until Labor Day, juniors may play for free after 3 pm only when accompanied by their parent. Parents pay a twilight green fee. BEGINNER/INTERMEDIATE PROGRAMS: $125 Ages 7-14 with less than three years of experience: Mon-Fri, June 1-5, 9-10:30 am Mon-Fri, June 22-26, 9-10:30 am Ages 9-14 with more than three years of experience: Mon-Fri, June 1-5, 11 am-12:30 pm Mon-Fri, June 22-26, 11 am-12:30 am 2020 PGA JR. LEAGUES In conjunction with the PGA of America, Eisenhower Golf Club offers golf teams for junior golfers. There are teams for all skill levels for ages 7-13, as well as an advanced league for ages 16 and under. Caddie: A person who assists the player with additional responsibilities such as yardage information, cleaning the clubs, carrying the bag, tending the pin, etc. These young men & women have respect for themselves, the players and the game of golf. They provide a service that dates back to 1500’s and is integral to golf. Esteem: What you think of yourself. If you are a golfer, think very highly of yourself. Humor: A state of mind in which there is no awareness of self. Failure: By your definition Success: By your definition Greens fee: The charge (fee) to play a golf course (the greens)-not “green fees”. Always too much, but always worth it. Greenskeeper: The person or persons responsible for maintaining the golf course Starting time (tee time): A reservation for play. Arrive at least 20 minutes before your tee time. The tee time you get is the time when you’re supposed to be hitting your first shot off the first tee. Golf Course Ambassador (Ranger): A person who rides around the golf course and has the responsibility to make sure everyone has fun and keep the pace of play appropriate. Scorecard: This is the form you fill out to count up your shots. Even if you don’t want to keep score, the cards usually have some good information about each hole (Length, diagrams, etc.).     Golf Course Rules I. General 1) The golf courses are available only to the residents and their guests and employees as provided in GRF Policy 303.1. Additionally, the Golden Rain Foundation reserves the right to allow outside tournaments and guest programs at its sole discretion. 2) The courses and the golf shop are open every day except Monday. On GRF recognized holidays that fall on Mondays, the golf courses and the golf shop will be open. The golf shop and driving range open at 7 a.m. Closing hours for both are adjusted according to the season. 3) Each player must have a set of clubs and golf bag. 4) If players cause any damage to the golf courses or other GRF property or surrounding homes it is their responsibility to notify the Director of Golf or his/her designee and arrange for payment to repair the damage. 5) Players should respect the tranquility and the privacy of occupants or nearby manors when playing and especially when searching for golf balls that may be lost out of bounds near homes. 6) Non-golfers may ride in a golf car with a golfer, but must stay in the golf car during play. 7) Threesome and foursome play is the accepted playing format and will have the right-of-way over all other groups. Twosomes and single players have no right-of-way at any time. They may, however, pass foursomes and threesomes only when a foursome or threesome consents. Fivesomes are not allowed. 8) Male players have exclusive use of both courses until 1:00 pm each Wednesday.
