 Mary Ellen from our Val Court group home enjoyed her volunteer time with a staff at this year’s Sussex County Fair at the county fairgrounds. We had many volunteers tend the booth throughout the week, and many of our group home residents took turns to meet and greet the public walking through the county building. Thank you all for helping us with our public relations efforts.

 Nina from our Sussex group home is leaning how to make pickles from the cucumbers in the home garden. Our gardens in our homes are an ever popular hobby and a learning experience to making and preparing meals and condiments like pickles. Good work Nina!

 Our Summer Experience program ended last Friday after 8 weeks of fun and adventure. Kaley (left) enjoyed her horseback riding time at Tranquility Farms in Green Township, and many participants had the time of their lives with our creative activities over the course of the summer. Our thanks to our excellent staff, and our sponsors: Sella Foundation, R&R Foundation, Verhalen Family Foundation, and Sussex County Arts Council.

 Coming up next week on August 26 is SCARC night at the to watch the Sussex County Miners vs Jackals game. Proceeds from the ticket sales will benefit the SCARC Foundation. You must purchase your tickets from the SCARC Foundation office in Augusta. For more information, contact Chris Hemmer at [email protected].

 Also coming up with our SCARC Foundation is our 2021 Pat Romano Memorial Golf Outing scheduled for September 15 at the Newton Country Club and the Farmstead Golf and Country Club. The Outing is always most successful and this year will be an exceeding success as well. In the photo is a foursome from last year’s tournament. For more information about the Outing, contact Chris Hemmer at the Foundation office at [email protected].

 Thank you to all of our staff, participants, and families for a most successful Summer Experience program this summer. We supported a total of 32 campers over the 8-week period.
