WHEREAS,Rascal Flatts has receiveda star on the World FamousHollywood Walk of Fameon Monday,September 17, 2012; and
WHEREAS,Even in a career as filled with music and milestonesas that of Rascal Flatts, there are times when capturingthe momentisn't difficult. Sometimes,it only takes a word. The releaseof Changed,the trio's eighth studio album,is a great case in point;and
WHEREAS,what the trio has beenthrough amounts to an almostcomplete metamorphosis of the businessaspects of their career. Jay, who handlesbass and vocals,along with guitarist/vocalistJoe Don Rooneyand lead vocalistextraordinaire Gary LeVox, have establishedthemselves at Big MachineRecords following the 2010 demiseof their longtimelabel, and have joined forces with SpaldingEntertainment after partingwith their longtimemanagement team. The fact that their first CD for Big Machine,Nothing Like This, hit #1 on the chartsand producedthree singlesof the caliberof "Why Wait,""I Won't Let Go" and "Easy,"would seem to indicatethey've handled the processsmoothly, but they are quickto pointout that anytransition this big holdsits challenges;and

They have won more than 40 major awards,including seven ACM trophiesfor "Vocal Group of the Year"and six trophiesfor CMA"Vocal Group of the Year." Recentlythey addeda GrandOle Opry membership,a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame and the prestigious Country Radio Seminar 2012 Artist HumanitarianAward to their list of accomplishments;and
WHEREAS,Nowhere is that moreevident than in the albumtitle track, a compellingand dramaticpicture of redemptionwritten by Garywith Neil Thrasherand WendellMobley, with whomhe also wrote"Fast Cars and Freedom"and "I Melt." WHEREAS,each of the three had a hand in writing for the project. Besides"Changed," Gary contributed"Great Big Love."
