The Minnesota Chapter honored 10 outstanding high school scholar-athletes, University of Minnesota running back David Cobb (left) received the Bobby Bell distributing $20,000 in scholarships. Valley of the Sun Chapter Distributes $43,000 in Scholarships at 34th Annual Awards Banquet

The forty high school scholar-athletes honored by the Valley of the Sun Chapter each receive a commemorative football to mark their achievement. The group also received $43,000 in scholarships. Pictured on the left is chapter president Janie Riddle.

Both from right). Fleetwood has served on the chapter’s board since 2007, securing scholar-athletes sustained serious injuries during their career but returned to lead endowments and sponsorships. 2015 College Hall of Fame inductee Bob Breunig from Arizona State was The Frank Kush Lifetime Achievement Coaching Award was presented to honored during the event. Breunig will be the 10th Sun Devil to be enshrined Valley of the Sun legends Paul Moro and Doug Shaffer. Moro (second left) led in the College Hall of Fame. Blue Ridge to 13 state championships and Shaffer owns a record of 135-67-2 at Horizon High School. Presenting the awards are Dan Manucci and award namesake and Hall of Fame coach Frank Kush. National Football Foundation Presented by Vermont Chapter Celebrates Excellence at 22nd Annual Scholar-Athlete Awards Dinner

The Vermont High School Scholar-Athletes distinguished themselves with Long time chapter president Mickey Heinecken (left) presents the High School their outstanding performances on and off the field. Each scholar received a Coach of the Year Award to Mike Williams of BFA Fairfax who won the Division $1,000 scholarship. Front to back: Jeff Carter, Mt. Heinecken was the head coach at Middlebury College Colchester; Brendan Gleason, Essex; Jordan Godfrey, Rutland; Connor Quinn, (VT) for 28 years before retiring in 2000. A sold out crowd at the Irving Convention Center saw 57 high school and nine NFF President & CEO Steve Hatchell presents the chapter’s Distinguished Texan collegiate standouts honored for their accomplishments on and off the field. Award to John Scovell. A former Texas Tech quarterback and 1967 NFF National At the podium, new SMU head coach Chad Morris served as the guest speaker, Scholar-Athlete Award winner, Scovell is the president & CEO of Woodbine outlining his plans for a big turn around on the Hilltop.
