Thank You for Considering Milford Public Library As a Place to Donate Your Gently Used Books Or Discs

Thank you for considering Milford as a place to donate your gently used or discs. Please help us with our mission by following these handy tips and guidelines.

We are likely to use: The library is unable to accept: Books in excellent condition Books damaged by highlighter, pen, or pencil marks Books published within 10 years Books that are over 10 years old or former booksale items Books with that new smell (we love that!) Books with an offensive odor, mildew, or stains Books with a wide appeal, and Books with torn covers or yellowed pages Items that fit our Material Selection Policy or encyclopedia sets and Blu-ray DVDs VHS or phonograph records Music CDs Music or books on cassette tapes, or personal mix CDs on CD Magazines or museum pamphlets Video games for current consoles Puzzles, board games, or toys

Items that are not added to the are donated to the Friends of Milford Library or discarded. Up to two (2) boxes may be brought to the Children’s desk for donation; staff is not available to assist by bringing donations into the building. Please do not use our book drop return for donations. All items donated to the library are considered library property and cannot be returned.

For donations of three (3) to five (5) boxes, call 203-783-3307 to schedule a drop-off. Due to space and storage limitations, we are unable to accept large donations of more than 5 boxes at a time.

If we are unable to accept your items, consider donating to Goodwill or Savers, or repurposing items into crafts. books and magazines can be recycled in Milford’s single stream program for residents. Thanks again for your support! Handout updated 1/13/18
