Sioux Nation

Sioux Nation Sioux Nation Ireland’s commercial market loves a quick-maturing 2yo and they don’t mature much more quickly than Sioux Nation did in 2017. By the time he lined up for the Gr.2 Norfolk S. at Royal Ascot, he had already won a maiden race in May very decisively. At Royal Ascot he followed No Nay Never as the second son of Scat Daddy to win the Norfolk. He then did even better in the Gr.1 Phoenix S. to become the second son of Scat Daddy, following Caravaggio, to win this Gr.1 contest. Sioux Nation was to add another Group victory, in the Gr.3 Lacken S. over six furlongs, as a 3yo, when he gave weight and a beating to the future July Cup third Fleet Review and the future Gr.2 winner Speak In Colours. He was also a close third in the Gr.1 Flying Five S. Sioux Nation’s dam Dream The Blues is a winning daughter of Catch The Blues, who achieved a Timeform rating of 115 as a four- and five-year-old, thanks to a victory in the Gr.3 Ballyogan S. and a second and third in the Gr.3 Cork and Orrery Stakes (now the Diamond Jubilee). Danzig will be back in the fifth generation of Sioux Nation’s foals. This allows ample scope for him to be mated to the grand-daughters of DANEHILL which have been the basis of much of No Nay Never’s early success. The DANEHILL stallions included EXCEED AND EXCEL(broodmare sire of champion Ten Sovereigns), ROCK OF GIBRALTAR (Gr.2 scorer Land Force), ORATORIO (Listed winner Servalan), FASTNET ROCK (Gr.3 winner Need I Say More) and DANEHILL DANCER (Gr.1-pl The Irish Rover). No Nay Never’s 2020 G1 Cheveley Park Stakes winner Alcohol Free is out of a grand-daughter of Danzig, by HARD SPUN. As GREEN DESERT will be back in the fourth generation of Sioux Nation’s foals, a second line is possible. The Gr.1 Flying Five S. winner Havana Grey is inbred 4x3 to GREEN DESERT and the Gr.2 2yo winners Alkumait and Barraquero are inbred 3x3. The NUREYEV line could suit as No Nay Never’s Listed winner All The King’s Men has a dam by PEINTRE CELEBRE and another of NUREYEV’s sons, THEATRICAL, sired the second dam of his Gr.1 winner Ten Sovereigns. Scat Daddy’s Gr.1 winners Lady Aurelia and Harmonize were inbred 4x3 and 4x4 respectively to STORM CAT. Mares by FOOTSTEPSINTHESAND, SHAMARDAL and LOPE DE VEGA could all reinforce Sioux Nation’s juvenile ability. MR PROSPECTOR will be back in the fourth generation of Sioux Nation’s foals. Another line could be added by sending him daughters of RAVEN’S PASS, IFFRAAJ, TAMAYUZ and DUTCH ART. No Nay Never is thriving with mares with Mr Prospector blood, siring a pair of Gr.2 winners from a mare by ENGLISH CHANNEL, a son of SMART STRIKE, and the Gr.2 winner, Chestnut Honey, from a mare by CHESTER HOUSE. As Scat Daddy sired several good winners at around a mile and a quarter, headed by his magnificent 2018 American Triple Crown winner Justify, Sioux Nation is worth trying with mares by leading middle-distance performers, such as MONTJEU, HIGH CHAPARRAL and GALILEO. No Nay Never, another son of Scat Daddy, has a Gr.2-winning 2yo out of a daughter of SADLER’S WELLS and two 2yo Listed winners from GALILEO mares. The quick-maturing ROYAL APPLAUSE line, including his son and grandson ACCLAMATION and DARK ANGEL, is well equipped to help Sioux Nation sire fast and precocious 2yos. No Nay Never has three Group winners, including Gr.2 winners Land Force and Wichita, with second dams by INDIAN RIDGE. BLUSHING GROOM’s sons RAINBOW QUEST, NASHWAN and RAHY collectively sired the second dam of four of No Nay Never’s SWs, and RAINBOW QUEST also sired the dam of one of his Listed winners. .

The only American-breds in Animal Kingdom=s first three generations are Candy Stripes, his paternal grandsire who raced in France, and Dancing Brave, the British-based superstar who sired his second dam Dynamis. American-breds are also rather scarce among the 16 horses in Animal Kingdom=s fourth generation, the exceptions being Red God, Lyphard (who appears twice), Sookera and Navajo Princess. Of these, Red God started his racing career in England, while Lyphard and Sookera raced exclusively in Europe.

TUESDAY, 26 JUNE 2018 There was never going to be any difficulty in their first season, PEDIGREE INSIGHTS: SEA THE when Sea The Stars was priced at i85,000 and Frankel at ,125,000 and they respectively covered 136 and 131 mares. The STARS & CRYSTAL OCEAN problem is that there isn't an endless supply of breeders prepared to invest heavily in untried but high-priced stallions and events showed that not even Sea The Stars and Frankel were immune to the fluctuating demand that affects so many young stallions in their first four seasons. It now seems hard to believe that Sea The Stars's totals in those first four years were 136, 83, 138 and 82 mares. Frankel's figures were 131, 128, 104 and 105. Perhaps Frankel's arrival as a stallion in 2013 was partly to blame for Sea The Stars's book falling to 82 mares, but their main problem was that these unproven horses were competing against stallions whose ability to sire top performers had been proven time after time. King George VI & Queen Elizabeth Stakes (Sponsored by QIPCO) Ascot Racecourse Background Information for the 65th Running Saturday, July 25, 2015 Winners of the Investec Derby going on to the King George VI & Queen Elizabeth Stakes (Sponsored by QIPCO) Unbeaten Golden Horn, whose victories this year include the Investec Derby and the Coral-Eclipse, will try to become the 14th Derby winner to go on to success in Ascot’s midsummer highlight, the Group One King George VI & Queen Elizabeth Stakes (Sponsored by QIPCO), in the same year and the first since Galileo in 2001. Britain's premier all-aged 12-furlong contest, worth a boosted £1.215 million this year, takes place at 3.50pm on Saturday, July 25. Golden Horn extended his perfect record to five races on July 4 in the 10-furlong Group One Coral- Eclipse at Sandown Park, beating older opponents for the first time in great style. The three-year-old Cape Cross colt, owned by breeder Anthony Oppenheimer and trained by John Gosden in Newmarket, captured Britain's premier Classic, the Investec Derby, over 12 furlongs at Epsom Downs impressively on June 6 after being supplemented following a runaway Betfred Dante Stakes success at York in May. If successful at Ascot on July 25, Golden Horn would also become the fourth horse capture the Derby, Eclipse and King George in the same year. ËËË Three horses have completed the Derby/Eclipse/King George treble in the same year - Nashwan (1989), Mill Reef (1971) and Tulyar (1952). ËËË The 2001 King George VI & Queen Elizabeth Stakes saw Galileo become the first Derby winner at Epsom Downs to win the Ascot contest since Lammtarra in 1995.
