What is the Campalorian? The “Campalorian'' is a weekend camporee dedicated to the Star Wars television series titled “Mandalorian.” The Mandalorian follows a bounty hunter from an in-world society of Mandalorians as he meets and defends an infant alien named Grogu. While the name Grogu might not be immediately recognizable, the infant’s nickname of “Baby Yoda'' certainly is. In honor of the Mandalorians’ noble quest to return Baby Yoda to his home, this camporee scouts will be returning their own Baby Yoda to its home. Additionally, this quest will come with nearly as many trials and tribulations as the Mandalorians own quest. Scouts will face challenges unlike any they’ve seen before. This is the way. Be prepared. Theme Disney’s “The Mandalorian” Leaders Each registered BSA Troop is required to have 2 appropriately trained leaders with them. One of those leaders needs to be 21 years of age or older. Additionally, if your troop has female scouts involved one of the 2 leaders needs to also be female.

GENERAL EVENT NOTES ● Troops will be assigned campsites upon arrival at the camporee. Notify Mark Bradford if your troop needs a site with electricity. ● Each troop will provide their own tents, food, and equipment. Cabins will not be available for troops. ● Please notify staff in advance of any of your Scouts’ special medical needs. Your cooperation allows us to be prepared in advance of any special conditions and can help prevent serious problems. ● Every Scout and Leader must be a registered member of the Boy Scouts of America.

● Every leader must have completed Youth Protection Training. ● Each troop is responsible for the Scouts in their troop. ● Leave No Trace principles should be followed by everyone in attendance. ● The Scout Oath and Law will govern all participants. ● ALL CAMPFIRES MUST BE IN A RAISED FIRE RING and each troop must bring their own ring. ● All scouts and scout leaders must wear a mask when social distancing is not possible. SAFETY PRECAUTIONS ● Medical Screening process prior to departing for camp: ALL participants must review the Pre-Event Medical Screening Checklist and pass it upon arrival to camp. https://flestore.scouting.org/flestore/HealthSafety/pdf/680-057.pdf ● ALL participant must check their temperature before departure and communicate to your unit if your temperature is 100.4 or above.

Upon arrival to camp ● Temperatures will be checked for all members in the vehicle at the south main entrance gate ● If anyone’s temperature is 100.4 or above, the entire vehicle will be sent home. (If anyone is turned away sick we will refund you 100% ● Temperatures will be taken prior to getting out of the vehicle. ● Participants who fall into the high-risk category, as defned by the CDC, should have approval from your healthcare provider. ● No large gatherings inside of buildings when avoidable. ● ALL participants will be asked the medical screening questions in the document above and asked to turn in a completed part A and B health form which can be found here: https://flestore.scouting.org/flestore/HealthSafety/pdf/680- 001_AB.pdf ● If gathering inside a building or whenever six feet of social distancing can not take place, face masks will be required. ● All shared items and equipment should adequately be cleaned and disinfected between use. ● If feasible, shared equipment should be limited to items that can be effectively cleaned. ● Limit the number of shared supplies and equipment for activities by providing each participant with their own supplies and equipment for the duration of camp if feasible. ● Participants should use their own individual refllable water bottles. ● Teach and encourage proper hygiene by reinforcing handwashing, covering coughs and sneezes, and providing hand sanitation stations for use before meals, etc. ● Ensure that all scouts have adequate clothing for the event. Indiana weather in April can be unpredictable so make sure all scouts have the proper gear to stay warm and safe through the duration of the event.

INDIVIDUAL SCOUT EQUIPTMENT Each Scout should have the following items with them during the events: Scout Handbook, and the materials noted in the Events section that troops supply.

CAMPSITES ● Campsites will be assigned at check-in. Troops must camp together in their designated area. ● A limited number of vehicles will be allowed in the camping area for loading and unloading only. ● All vehicles must remain in the designated parking area throughout the event. ● Each troop is responsible for its own camping equipment. Troops should make their campsite as close to a model site as possible. AWARDS Camp gadgets (competition)

EVENTS CATAPULT A raid of Krykna’s have just invaded your camp and are rampaging all around. Your only hope is to use your troops catapult. Each patrol will get five shots at the hoard of dessert ice spiders raging toward you. You will need to determine as a patrol how to get your catapult to hit the Krykna’s. To successfully save your campsite you must defeat the Krykna’s.

MORSE CODE Your “Baby Yoda” has just been captured by Gideon and Boba Fett has just returned from giving chase. He has shown you some of his chain code from his armor. Your task is to determine what the message says and to even write your own. Scouts should bring: ● Writing utensil ● Paper

ORIENTEERING/GEOCACHING (Bring smartphone with you for geocaching) You and your troop have just defeated IG-11 and are now accompanied by “Baby Yoda.” Your mission is to deliver “Baby Yoda” to the Jedi who will help to train him in the ways of the force. You’ll encounter many allies and just as many enemies as you make your way from planet to planet throughout the galaxies. This is the way. Be prepared. You will complete the following requirements for the orienteering merit badge: ● 4a ● 5a ● 6a ● 9

TOMAHAWK THROWING IG-11 has entered your campsite, he is fring at your troop in search of “Baby Yoda.” Your only chance of defense are your handy tomahawks or knives. Each scout will have fve chances to hit IG-11 before he reaches the location of your “Baby Yoda.” If you succeed in hitting IG-11 your “Baby Yoda'' will be safe and you will be allowed to move on to your next challenge.

TUG OF WAR Your “Baby Yoda” has been captured by Gideon and his dark troopers. Your mission is to successfully save “Baby Yoda” and return to your ship safely. To get your “Baby Yoda” back from Gideon’s clutches, you must defeat the dark troopers and take back your Grogu.
