THE U.S. ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION AGENCY ANNOUNCES A PUBLIC COMMENT PERIOD FOR THE ACE SERVICES SUPERFUND SITE COLBY, KANSAS The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is requesting public comment on the Proposed Plan for the Amendment to the Record of Decision (ROD) for groundwater at the Ace Services Superfund Site in Colby, Kansas. The Proposed ROD amendment addresses changes in size and function of groundwater extraction and treatment methods and provides an alternative method for supplying drinking water to any other residences affected in the future. The remediation objectives in the ROD are unchanged. EPA will take comments on the Proposed Plan through July 27, 2001. EPA has also established an information repository that contains site-related documents. The Proposed Plan for the Amendment to the ROD and the information repository for the Ace Services Superfund Site are available for review at the following locations:
