Day 08: Kovalam – Alleppey Day 01: Chennai: AM: Arrive Chennai and transfer to hotel PM: Sightseeing tour of Chennai, covering Museum, Snake Park, Kapaleeswarar Temple, Marina Beach and Santhome Basilica. Overnight hotel in Chennai. Day 02: Chennai - Mahabalipuram - Pondicherry: AM: Drive to Mamallapuram (the Seat of Power of the Pallava Dynasty) and visit The Bass relief of Arjuna's Penance, the Five Rathas dedicated to the five Pandava brothers of Mahabharat fame, Craftsmen centers and Shore temple. PM: Drive to Pondicherry and visit Aurobindo Ashram, Auroville, Matrimandir, a beautifully designed hall for meditation. Enroute visit Marakanam Village to see how catamarams are made. Overnight hotel in Pondicherry. Day 03: Pondicherry - Chidambaram - Thanjavur: Drive to Thanjavur to check into hotel. Enroute visit the famous Nataraja Temple (temple famous for Shiva's 106 Cosmic dance postures) at Chidambaram and Gangaikondacholapuram, known for its architecture. Overnight hotel in Thanjavur. Day 04 : Thanjavur - Trichy: AM: Visit to the Brihadeeswara Temple also known as the Big Temple. Built by the Great Raja Raja Chola, this temple is again an architectural Masterpiece. Also visit the Tanjore Art Gallery and Saraswathi Mahal Library. PM: Drive to Trichy and check into hotel. Later Visit to the famous Sri Ranganathaswamy Temple at Srirangam.This temple has the tallest Gopuram ('lower) in the world for any typical South Indian Temple. Also, visit the Rock fort Temple better known as Uchi Pillayar Koil. Overnight hotel in Trichy. Day 05 : Trichy - Madurai: AM: Drive to Madurai and check into hotel. PM: Visit the most famous Meenakshi Amman Temple, Mariamman Teppakulam and Thirumalai Nayakar Mahal for Sound & Light show which relates the story of the Tamil epic, Silappadikaram, and the history of the Nayaks. Overnight hotel in Madurai. DAY 06: MADURAI – THEKKADY AM: Drive to Thekkady and upon arrival check into hotel. PM: Visit Periyar Game Sanctuary by the Forest Department’s motorized boat. Overnight hotel in Thekkady. DAY 07: THEKKADY – KOVALAM Drive to Kovalam and check into hotel. Enroute visit the Padmanaba Temple and Chitra Art Gallery. Rest of the evening free on the beach. Overnight Beach Resort in Kovalam. DAY 08: KOVALAM – ALLEPPEY After breakfast drive to Alleppey and check into houseboat at noon. Rest of the day keep cruising on the backwaters visiting the numerous villages along the back waters. Overnight aboard the houseboat. DAY 09: ALLEPPEY - KOCHI After breakfast at the houseboat, disembark from the houseboat at finishing point and drive to Kochi to check into hotel. Later visit Jewish Synagogue, Dutch Palace, St. Franacis Church and Chinese fishing nets. In the evening watch Kathakali Dance show. Overnight hotel in Kochi. DAY 10: KOCHI – OOTY AM: After early breakfast drive to Ooty and check into hotel. PM: Sightseeing tour of Ooty visiting the Lake, Botanical Garden etc. Overnight hotel in Ooty. DAY 11: OOTY – MYSORE AM: After early breakfast drive to Mysore and check into hotel. PM: Visit Maharaja Palace and Brindavan Gardens. Overnight hotel in Mysore. DAY 12: MYSORE – HASSAN AM: After breakfast drive to Hassan and check into hotel. PM: Visit Belue and Halibedu. Overnight hotel in Hassan. DAY 13: HASSAN – BANGALORE After early breakfast drive to Bangalore and check into hotel. En route visit Sravanabelagola. Evening visit the ISKCON temple. Overnight hotel in Bangalore. DAY 14: BANGALORE – CHENNAI AM: Wake up at leisure and after breakfast free for shopping.
