Product Catalogue 2016/2017 Welcome to the Nungar Knots 2016/2017 Catalogue Product Catalogue 2016/2017 Welcome to the Nungar Knots 2016/2017 catalogue Nungar Knots is a wholesale business, manufacturing high quality rope products for the equine and other industries since 1994. Our products are sold in saddleries and retail stores right across Australia and several countries around the world. At Nungar Knots we use only the highest quality raw materials in the construction of all our products. Australian made double braided polyester yachting rope is used to construct our rope products. On the ocean rope is exposed to the most extreme weather conditions on earth. This includes seawater spray, heat, UV exposure, and most obviously tremendous strain as it is pulled and clamped with the various mechanisms and forces of a sailing vessel. Yachting rope is strong and durable enough to withstand these harsh conditions. Yachting rope is a polyester composite so it will stay supple under all conditions making it an all season product. It is strong and durable and yet soft and supple so it is comfortable for both horse and trainer. The Nungar Knots production team have been highly trained in the manufacturing process and take pride in the construction of every item. There are strict guidelines that must be adhered to in the hand making of all Nungar Knots products. This level of quality assurance begins with rope selection and follows right through to the careful packaging of each product to ensure that all products that leave for the retail shelf are of the highest standard. All staff are themselves horse owners and proudly use Nungar Knots products. The fiador knot (under the chin) on all our headstalls is mechanically tightened to reduce the risk of it becoming loose. In the construction of lead ropes, only true double braid eye splices are used. This enhances the quality and strength of the product because the core remains in place within the rope sheath. Nungar Knots products are strong and durable to give many years of enjoyment. We have a wide range of colour options to choose from right across our range of products. Colour matching your gear for each horse is easy even if you have a few! Repairs We are happy to do minor repairs (eg; re-tie fiador knot, replace leather popper) on genuine Nungar Knots products. Give us a call to discuss and if it is repairable, we will do our best to help you. Charges may apply. Changes and alterations The products listed in the catalogue are the standard Nungar Knots products. We can easily make minor changes and alterations to most products. If you require longer leads, shorter reins or any minor adjustment to any of our standard products please just let us know when you place your order. Note that extra charges may apply. We are often asked to make custom designed rope products. Please see page 10 for more details or give us a call to discuss your design. Care of rope products We recommend washing your rope products in cold water regularly. Washing with mild detergent will give an extra clean when needed. If the dirt is allowed to remain in the fibres it will shorten the life span of your product. Leather poppers will benefit from a quick clean with a leather cleaner/conditioner. To stay up to date with the latest news and hear about new product releases, like us on Facebook. www.facebook.com/nungarknots We would love to hear your comments, ideas and feedback so please feel free to email us or give us a call. The headstall is constructed from double braided polyester yachting rope and comes in both 6mm and 8mm diameter rope. Only the highest quality yachting rope is selected to make the headstall and strict manufacturing guidelines are adhered to by our craftsmen. All headstalls are designed with a loop below the jaw for easy attachment of a lead rope or reins of your choice. Creating this loop is the all important fiador knot which is mechanically tightened on all genuine Nungar Knots headstalls. This tightening process greatly reduces the risk of the fiador knot becoming loose. Rope headstalls are light weight but very strong. Nungar Knots unique placement of the nose knots and the softness of the rope allows excellent communication between the trainer and the horse. All products are constructed from high quality 6mm double braided polyester yachting rope and have matching reins available. Traditional Bridle The traditional rope bridle is unique to Nungar Knots. It is spliced rather than knotted together. The bridle is lightweight but very strong and has all the same adjustments found on a leather bridle. Any standard bit is easily attached. This bridle sits flat on the horses head, minimising the chance of rubbing and ensures maximum comfort to the horse. Budget Bitless Bridle The budget bitless bridle is made to the same proportions as the headstall but with the addition of high quality stainless steel rings on each side, giving a ‘side pull’ effect when riding. This allows the rider the convenience of either riding with the reins attached to the side of the horses head for greater control or under the chin to the lead rope loops. Above these loops is the fiador knot and as with all Nungar Knots headstalls, this knot is mechanically tightened to reduce the chance of it loosening. This is especially important when attaching the reins to the rings. *Note when attaching reins to the loops below the fiador knot always ensure BOTH reins are attached to BOTH loops for safety. Nungar Knots Product Catalogue 2016/17 Page 3 www.nungarknots.com.au Freedom Bitless Bridle The Freedom Bitless Bridle was designed in conjuction with a natural horsemanship trainer who was looking for a bitless bridle that focussed on developing lightness and softness in the horse. There is nothing that tightens anywhere on the horses face or around the nose and there is no poll pressure when rein aids are applied. This, combined with the unique ring placement for easy rein attachment, encourages the horse to drop their nose and bend and flex correctly.

  • Disonariu Kabuverdeanu
di J.J.R. Pires ku J. Hutchison DISONARIU KABUVERDIANU Funkul Nho Lobu Boston 1999 * Mother Tongue Editions West Newbury MA Disonariu Kabuverdianu FOREWORD 1. Introduction. This is actually the second edition of a dictionary of the Capeverdean language which was prepared by J.J.R. Pires and John Hutchison and first appeared in 1983 bearing the title Disonariu Preliminariu Kriolu. This second edition bears a different title, and has benefited from the contributions of a third author, Manuel Goncalves of the Capeverdean Bilingual Program of the Boston Public Schools. This second edition was produced to respond to the needs of students at BostonUniversity enrolled in the 1994 Co-operative African Language Institute hosted by Boston University from the 20th of June to the 29th of July, 1994. The course is being taught by Manuel Goncalves, and it is hoped that through the course it will be possible to make significant improvements in the quality of the dictionary, and to increase the number of entries. Though the word Preliminariu has been removed from the title, this second edition of the dictionary remains in a working draft version which is being improved on an ongoing basis. Like its predecessor, it does not contain etymologies for the language sources of words. The development of a dictionary is an ongoing process and the authors would greatly appreciate receiving comments and criticisms from those reading and using the dictionary. 2. Spelling and orthography. The orthography of Capeverdean has again changed, as reflected inthis dictionary, from a more phonetic orthography, to a more Portuguese-based orthography.

  • Bit Guidelines for Use in 4-H Horse Shows
January 2020 Guidelines for Bits in Pennsylvania 4-H Horse Shows These guidelines should be used in conjunction with the current Pennsylvania 4-H Horse Show Rulebook and any available supplement. See rulebook for additional details involving bits and equipment for respective divisions and classes. Because the Pennsylvania 4-H Horse Program is diverse in both its divisions and in the breeds that compete, it is difficult to generate a complete list of acceptable bits. Bits that are permitted by respective breed associations may be acceptable at the judge’s discretion. A judge at his/her discretion can penalize a horse with non-conventional types of bits, nose bands or other equipment. If exhibitors have questions concerning a bit they wish to use, and that specific bit is not mentioned in the current rules or these guidelines, then exhibitors should ask the show stewards and/or the judge if the bit is acceptable for that show. Exhibitors should have alternative bits available so that they can make a change if it is determined by show officials that their preferred bit is unacceptable for that show. Each county, district or regional, and state show is officiated by different stewards and judges. Therefore, exhibitors must seek approval from show officials at each show before using the questionable bit. Members should consult with professionals in their riding discipline or contact the appropriate breed association for guidance in selecting a bit in order to find one that is both appropriate and acceptable for use in Pennsylvania 4-H shows. No horse or pony may be shown with their tongues tied down or with their mouths tied shut.

In this horsemanship program, you will begin to explore the many facets of horsemanship. At each level you will be asked to explore and gain experience in different activities. The mere superficial participation in the activities is not the goal. It is hoped that you will study and explore each event carefully and participate in depth with understanding and appreciation. We hope that through your experience in the Horsemastership program you will gain the knowledge and appreciation of your relationship with the Morgan Horse. Hopefully you will begin a lifetime relationship with the Morgan. The republication of this horsemanship manual is dedicated to Mrs. Gloria Jones of Diablo, California, and the original author of these manuals. It is with a great deal of affection we recognize her efforts and support of the American Morgan Horse Association Youth Program. Section A: Care for a horse and keep records for at least three months, or prepare a budget that outlines the estimated annual expense for boarding, farrier and veterinary care, basic horse equipment, and worming materials. The project should include a schedule for routine farrier and veterinary visits, a worming schedule and a balanced feed ration. If you are fortunate enough to own a horse, chances are you are boarding it and you will be very familiar with these expenses.
