Zambales

(10 brgys affected) with floodwater ranging from 4 ft and above which caused the braeaching of Mt. Pintubo Dike at Brgy. San Juan, Botolan at 4:00 PM, August 6, 2009. Rescue evacuation on going. A total of 1,831 persons were evacuated at five (5) namely: North Cotabato Elementary School, South Central Elementary School, Botolan Covered Court, Taugtog Covered Court and Beneg Plaza.

Rescuers/Responders: PDCC , City, SBMA, Philippine Coast Guard and Zambales PNRC Chapter Team

Tarlac

• Capas (Brgy Sta Lucia) with 3 ft deep underwater wherein Sta. Lucia Bridge overflowed due to the overflowing of the O’donell and Sta. Juliana Rivers. Not passable to all types of vehicles as of 9:30 PM, August 06, 2009

Personnel and equipment from Light Armor Division, PA assisted PDCC and MDCC Capas for possible rescue operations.

Three (3) 4x4 vehicles from Angeles City carrying 14 passengers excluding drivers and guides went up to the Pinatubo tourist spot. One vehicle overturned due to strong current of water with three (3) Canadian passengers reported missing. Rescue operations were attempted by the LGU of Capas, Elements of the 3 rd Mechanized Infantry Battalion but to no avail due to strong current of water. Rescue team jointly headed by the MDCC-Capas, Light Armor Division and 3 rd MIB.

Nueva Ecija

• Maharlika Carangalan Road (3 ft underwater) - not passable to all types of vehicles as of 6:00 AM, Aug 7, 2009 due to landslides - On- going clearing operations by NE–DPWH Engineering District with 3 payloader, 1 grader and 1 dumptruck

• Poblacion Rizal and Ganduz, Pantabangan Bridge - not passable to light vehicles due to rampaging water

City - a total of 250 families were affected in Bliss Village Sta Arcadia

Zambales

• Olongapo-Bugallon Road Carael Section - not passable to all types of vehicles due to collapsed box culvert caused by the breaching of dike

• Zambales –Tarlac Road (Brgy San Juan) is underwater 1.0 meter - 1.2 meter deep and is not passable to all types of vehicles. DPWH III dispatched Engineers and maintenance crew

– Aurora Road, Cabatangan River Maria Aurora – underwater 2 - 2.5 meter deep and not pasable to all types of vehicles. Detour at San Luis , Maria Aurora Road

Pampanga

• San Fernando - Road is .30 meter deep underwater and is not passable to light vehicle

NATIONAL CAPITAL REGION (NCR)

Malabon City

• Areas reported flooded yesterday are already passable

Valenzuela City

• Road along Barangays Pulo, Paasan, Basig and Mabolo are flooded with flood waters ranging from 13-21 inches deep and are not passable to light vehicles

CORDILLERA ADMINISTRATIVE REGION (CAR )

Benguet

• Classes at all levels are suspended. Kennon road is closed due to landslide at Camp 5. Road clearing operation started today; Kibungan-Benguet Road is closed - open situation due to road slide – Road clearing operations started today

Baguio City

• Classes in Elementary and High School levels are suspended; retaining wall along Brgy. City Camp Proper collapsed at around 9:00 PM 6 August with 12 persons evacuated to Brgy Hall; one (1) house at Brgy Balsigan is covered by mudslide with 2 persons reported injured; one shanty house at Camp 8 near basketball court is buried by slide with three (3) children trapped; and several fallen trees are uprooted in Navy Base • Camp 8, Baguio City- three (3) persons were reported dead namely: Cris Tiska, Mikhail Teska and Edu Tiska and 2 injured namely: Modista Omitan and Mariano Omitan

Ifugao • Banaue - Ifugao Road is closed - open situation due to road slide - road clearing operations started today. Duclingan-Banaue Road is closed due to read slide. Road clearing operations started today

Dam River/Monitoring as of 6:00 AM, August 7, 2009

• Binga Dam - the current level is 573.70 meter with 5 gates open at 6 meters (spilling level is 575.0 meters)

3 • Ambuklao - the current level is 744.45 meter with 4 gates open at 8 meters (spilling level is 752.00 meters)

• Magat Dam - the water levels at Maris and Gamu basic points are expected to reach the Alert Water Level. A definite large amount of rainfall is expected in the basin due to monsoon

B. Casualties

 There were five (5) persons reported dead:

Two (2) in Botolan, Zambales Three (3) in Sta. Lucia, Capaz, Tarlac (2 - Tanods and 1 - Canadian woman due to drowning)

III. HUMANITARIAN ACTIONS

 OCD Regions III, CAR and NCR’ disaster operation centers (DOCs) have been activated; continuously disseminating weather and flood advisories issued by NDCC-OPCEN to the local disaster coordinating councils concerned; and are continuously monitoring the effects of Typhoon Kiko in their respective areas of responsibility

 CAR • PNP-PRO-COR has been assisting in the dissemination of advisories through their radio communications network • Baguio City Police Stations assisted in the clearing operations at the landslide areas • DPWH is continuously monitoring the road status to conduct road clearing operations • PDCC Benguet has been monitoring any possible effects of weather disturbance in the province • CDCC Baguio City - BCEMS City Fire Station and 911 responded at the landslide areas and acted on all other emergency calls. Victims were brought to Baguio General Hospital and Medical Center

 Region III • Rescue personnel and equipment from Light Armor Division, PA are on stand-by to assist PDCC Tarlac for in the rescue operations at Sta. Lucia, Capas • Elements of the 3 rd Mechanized Infantry Batallion and Light Armor Divison assisted the MDCC Capas in the conduct of SAR operations for the 3 Canadian passengers who were reported missing whose vehicle overturned while crossing a river going to Mt. Pinatubo tourist spot
