Press release Stockholm, 8 January, 2017 Wonderworld VR is following Super middleweight world champion Badou Jack in virtual reality Super middleweight world champions Badou Jack and James DeGale are set to unify the 168-pound class. Both champions retained their titles on a doubleheader last April 30. Jack and DeGale will face off in a long-awaited unification to determine the No. 1 fighter in the super middleweight division on Saturday, January 14, 2017 at Barclays Center in New York. During this week, leading up to the fight, the international virtual reality company Wonderworld VR has signed an exclusive agreement with Badou Jack to follow him day and night in virtual reality in a way that has never been done before. Simon Romanus, CEO Wonderworld VR, says: "We’re very excited to have this unique opportunity. This will give all sport fans a chance to actually feel as if they are with a professional boxer wherever he goes. We have access to him in the ring, at the training facilities and even in his home in Las Vegas. This is the first time ever that a world champion boxer gives this kind of back stage fan experience in VR. Badou Jack himself says that it is fun exploring new ways to reach his fans. “I like to take unexpected roads and this is just one of many. When Wonderworld VR showed me virtual reality I was immediately hooked. The former 168-pound titleholder Anthony and two-time title challenger Andre are both prime for another run at championship gold, but will have stiff competition from opponents who have recently had their own title opportunities. “April 29 is going to be a fun night of boxing,” said Andre. “Caparello is hungry just like me and he’s fighting for his career so I know he’s a very dangerous man. Everything in camp has been perfect so far.
