FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE WCHA DEBUTS ‘INSIDE THE WCHA’ WEB SERIES League partners with BLC Studios for bi-weekly show featuring highlights, interviews and more

EDINA, Minn. – September 29, 2016 – College hockey fans can take a deeper dive into the men’s Western Collegiate Hockey Association (WCHA) this season with the debut of “Inside the WCHA,” a bi-weekly web series featuring news, highlights, analysis, coach and player interviews, and more from around the 10- team league. The show is created and produced by the WCHA in partnership with BLC Studios, a division of Bethany Lutheran College.

The debut webisode, previewing the upcoming 2016-17 campaign, is available now at www.wcha.com/men/media/inside.php. Subsequent shows will be available approximately every two weeks during the season. In addition to production duties, Bethany Lutheran College journalism and broadcast students will also fill hosting roles.

“We are excited to introduce ‘Inside the WCHA’ to our fans,” said WCHA President and Men’s League Commissioner Bill Robertson. “The show will be a fun, informative way to get an inside scoop on each team and the WCHA as a whole. Part of our league’s longstanding mission is to assist developing programs in every sense, and for that reason, we are very happy to provide this platform to the excellent staff and students at Bethany Lutheran College.”

Located in Mankato, Minn., Bethany Lutheran College features a renowned Media Arts department. Under the direction of studio manager (and former ESPN Network Associate Director) Greg Vandermause, BLC Studios produces all live telecasts of Minnesota State men’s and women’s hockey.

“This show provides a unique and unparalleled opportunity for our upper-level students to produce and host a true highlight-and-analysis show,” said Vandermause. “We thank Commissioner Robertson and the WCHA for approaching us with this idea, and are thrilled to partner with them on a fantastic project.”

The 2016-17 WCHA season – the 65th campaign for the historic league – gets underway this weekend. Ferris State hosts Alabama Huntsville in the first league series and Michigan Tech visits Minnesota Duluth for a nonconference set, while six schools play exhibition contests ( Anchorage, Alaska, Bowling Green, Lake Superior State, Minnesota State and Northern Michigan).
