Site Description: Silver Sands State Park Activities features a 3/4 mile boardwalk connecting the Bird & Wildlife YES Supervised Swimming YES State park to the City of Milford's Walnut Crabbing YES Unsupervised Swimming YES Beach Park. The site includes an offshore island Fishing YES SCUBA Diving NO connected to the mainland by a sand and gravel bar (tombolo) that is submerged at high tide. Shellfishing NO Historic/Cultural Interest NO Accessing the tombolo is EXTREMELY Trails NO Waterfowl Hunting NO DANGEROUS and should be avoided. Access Walkways YES to the island is prohibited May 1 through Facilities August 31 to protect heron and egret Access Pier NO Handicapped Access NO rookeries.
