Not many composers have inspired jazz musicians as often or as intensely as Maurice Ravel, one of the first 20th century classical composers to acknowledge jazz as a valuable inspiration. Reverso’s “Suite Ravel” brings together American trombonist and composer Ryan Keberle with French pianist and composer Frank Woeste for a musical experience bridging jazz and chamber music, performed by an outstanding quartet featuring both Keberle and Woeste along with cellist Erik Friedlander and drummer Johnathan Blake. Hailed in the Downbeat magazine International Critics Poll as the #1 Rising Star trombonist, Keberle has developed a one-of-a-kind voice both on his instrument and as a bandleader, earning distinction among jazz’s most adventurous new voices. He’s worked with musicians ranging from superstars like , , and Justin Timberlake to up-and-coming innovators and jazz legends like and . Woeste has recorded five albums and appears on many others as a musician and arranger, several of which have been awarded with French Victoires du Jazz.

This engagement of Reverso: Suite Ravel is made possible through the French-American Jazz Exchange Tours program of Mid Atlantic Arts Foundation with support from the National Endowment for the Arts.
