0 SCHOOLS 2 CRICKET ASSOCIATION PRESIDENT'S REPORT

As the President of Alberta Schools Cricket Association (ASCA) I would like to report on another successful year for the organization. Very noticeable growth and development was evident with our members this year. ASCA sponsored

Combined Schools team provided an opportunity to the youth to play competitive cricket in & District Cricket League. Indoor practices and Schools T10 outdoor tournament arranged by ASCA and coached by Christie Marathalingham were also very beneficial to the younger members of the association.

I would like to thank all the executives and coaches of ASCA in making this organization a welcoming one for the youth of Alberta. E & DCL Club Cricket 7 members of the Combined Schools team switched to Premier League clubs. This sudden change had many difficulties for the Combined Schools team this year. No, new school players are groomed to take their vacant spots. The new team, with new faces, had a remarkable effect.

Edmonton Under 19s emerged as Inter-City Champions in 2017. In Under 19 category, 3 Junior players were selected to play for Canada in the World Cup squad, to take place in New Zealand, in 2018. The Schools Cricket League is functioning at its best, and we are celebrating 23 years of promoting Cricket in Alberta Schools. Pranav Sharma and Kunwar Chana from Edmonton, and Rommel More schools are expected to join the tournament format this Shahzad and Arsalan Kumar from Calgary were selected. We year. The Alberta Cricket Association (ACA) had the services of course conductor Christie Marathalingam to conduct a level 1 coaching clinic in Fort McMurray & Edmonton in April 2017. 18 coaches from Fort McMurray and 7 coaches from Edmonton were certified. More schools in Alberta will benefit from this program.
