Whilton Mill Kart Circuit Covid-safe Open Testing Reopening:

Please note that as an outdoor sports facility, Whilton Mill Ltd has reopened its outdoor kart circuit in consultation with District Council, who are happy that we are operating safely and in accordance with the Health Protection (coronavirus, restrictions) () (amendment) (no2) regulations 2020 and Health and Safety at Work etc. Act 1974.

Booking:

• All bookings must be made in advance, there strictly is no arrival and pay on the day. • All bookings for open practice events are on-line. • Payment is required at the time of booking.

Driver & Guest Obligations:

• First and foremost, please take a common-sense approach to safety and risk. • Drivers are permitted to attend/travel with one other who is a member of the same household. • Drivers are permitted to meet one other person not from their household such as a driver coach or mechanic. Physical distancing and good hygiene practices must be observed at all times. • Drivers must ensure that they and any guests have read and fully understand Whilton Mill’s covid-safe procedures set out in this document. • Driver and their guests must make themselves aware of the NHS and PHE guidelines on precautions that should be taken to avoid the spread of Covid-19. • Drivers and their guest must be familiar with Covid-19 symptoms and if experiencing any of symptoms they must stay at home. • You must bring with you hand sanitiser, fire extinguisher and high-vis vest. • Please take your own rubbish home with you. • Drivers and their guests should bring their own PPE. • Please work with us and follow the procedures put in place for your and our staff’s safety. Anyone not doing so will be asked to leave the circuit.

Registration:

• All drivers will be emailed a link to register digitally. • Drivers must enter details of their plus 1 when registering. • If you have arranged for a driver coach, mechanic or similar to attend, you must include their details when registering. • We will keep a register all expected on the day, anyone not on the list will be refused entry to the circuit. There will be no exceptions.

Practice Format:

• We will run a morning and afternoon session, each open pitlane and lasting 3- hours for a maximum of 20 karts. • Practice will be for karts of a similar class and speed i.e. Junior/Senior or Bambino/Cadet. • The format will be reviewed weekly and we will make changes as and when required.

Whilton Mill Kart Circuit Covid-safe Open Testing Covid-safe procedures:

• On arrival a Whilton Mill member of staff will check your name off against the list of drivers, plus 1’s and driver coaches (or similar). Anyone not on the list will be refused entry to the circuit, there will be no exceptions. • You will be asked to familiarise yourself covid-safe precautions displayed at the paddock entrance. • Temperature checks will be carried out on arrival, anyone with a temperature of 37.8c or higher will be refused entry. • You will be allocated a paddock bay for the duration of your sessions; this must be vacated at the agreed time. Paddock bays will be spaced at in intervals of at least 2m. • Unload your equipment and make any preparations to kart and equipment in your allocated paddock bay. Once ready push your kart on a trolley to the dummy grid. • You will be allocated a dummy grid slot for the duration of your session. Dummy grid slots will be spaced out in intervals of at least 2m. • If working on your kart, please do so in your allocated paddock bay. • A one-way system will be in operation; dummy grid, pit entry, pit exit and return to allocated dummy grid. If you have finished for the day or wish to work on your kart, exit via parc ferme and into the paddock. • Teams are permitted to transport karts to the venue and dummy grid. Drivers must notify Whilton Mill Ltd of any team personnel that will be attending. The number of people attending must not exceed the agreed limit; driver plus 1 plus driver coach or similar i.e. a maximum of 3 people per booking. • When teams are transporting karts to the dummy grid or paddock, physical distancing must be observed at all times. • Drivers coaches/team personal must view from the Clubhouse balcony and observe physical distancing at all times, keep a 2m gap. • Drivers plus 1’s must view from track side/dummy/marshal post in readiness to assist the driver should recovery be required. A high-vis must be worn at all times. Physical distancing should be observed at all times, keep a 2m gap. • When using the WC, please use the hand sanitiser provided before entry. • All contact between customers, teams, driver coaches and Whilton Mill must be outdoors and at a safe physical distance, 2m.

Facilities:

• Whilton Mill helmets and race suits will not be available to hire. • The Clubhouse and Bistro will be closed. • No food or drink will be available to purchase on the day, please bring your own. • KKC Kart Shop will be open at weekend. • WC’s will be open, only the disabled will in use to help enforce a one in one out policy. WC’s will be cleaned and inspected regularly. • There will be no overnight parking. • Parc ferme should not be used to work on or store karts.

Whilton Mill Kart Circuit Covid-safe Open Testing Whilton Mill Team:

• Events will be run with two members of staff who are first aid trained. • One will control the paddock and general site, the other the pit-lane and track. • Our staff will wear face masks and gloves. • All Whilton Mill staff have received a detailed briefing on our covid-safe procedures. • Whilton Mill staff will not be able to assist with lifting and loading of karts.

Accidents:

• In the event of a breakdown the drivers plus 1 is responsible for helping them return the kart to the paddock. • In the event of a fuel or kart fire, the driver and their plus 1 should initially tackle the fire with their own fire extinguisher. Whilton Mill staff will monitor the situation and provide additional support if required. Physical distancing is to be observed where possible. • In the event of an accident on track, Whilton Mill’s first aid trained staff will be first to respond. They’ll assess the situation and take the necessary action be that to administer first aid, recommend a visit to A&E or call an ambulance. Plus 1’s can attend the scene but must observe physical distancing from Whilton Mills staff.
