PARK MAINTENANCE STAFF REPORT April 2021
Aquatic Center: • Ground Maintenance – Mowed grass area around pool building. Skate Park: • Ground Maintenance – Mowed grass in and around Park. • Painted over graffiti on picnic table. • Painted over graffiti in outhouse/porta-potty. Barton (Barkin) Park: • Ground Maintenance – Mowed Dog Park and surrounding hillsides. Beattie Park: • Ground Maintenance – Mowed grass area in Park twice this month. Weed whacked around sidewalks and curbs. Removed erosion control barriers at the playground. • Removed temporary fence around new grass at playground area. • Lowered flag in Park. • Posted five public notification signs at west side of park by camp host house. • Irrigation – Replaced two bad I-40’s in sprinkler system on the west side of playground. Repaired a cross threaded elbow that was leaking onto the sidewalk on the south side of the playground. Replaced broken riser to an I-20 sprinkler by the playground.

Briar Creek Park: • Ground Maintenance – Mowed grass area in park and sports field twice this month. Weed whacked/edged along fence line. • Park Rangers opened and closed restroom and chain in parking lot daily. Centennial Park: • Ground Maintenance – Weed wacked and edged around park. Mowed grass area. City Hall: • Ground Maintenance – Mowed grass area around building. Civic Auditorium:
• Ground Maintenance – Weed whacked around fence and building. Edged along the sidewalks. Mowed grass area around building. Downtown/Charlotte Web: JM Park: • Ground Maintenance – Mowed grass in Park and sports field twice this month. Edged grass next to sidewalks around Park. • Cleaned up in and around bleachers at baseball field. • Park rangers opened and closed restrooms daily. • Painted both sets of bleachers. • Rototilled sand area of playground and picked up grass. • Unclogged urinal drain in men’s restroom then cleaned up the mess in both the men’s and women’s restrooms. Ken Adam Park: • Replaced stolen flags at the memorial. • Lowered flag in Park. Library: Lompoc Middle School Girls Softball:

Multi-Purpose Walking Trails: • Ground Maintenance – Mowed at A and Seventh Street, along the houses. Museum: • Ground Maintenance – Weed whacked around building and in alley way. Mowed grass area. Old Mission Site: • Ground Maintenance – Mowed grass area. Weed whacked around site and sidewalks. Pioneer Park: • Ground Maintenance – Mowed grass area in park and in baseball field twice this month. • Cleaned up in and around bleachers by baseball field. • Removed debris out of faucet metering valve in south side restroom. Pocket Park: • Ground Maintenance – Mowed South I Street Parking Lot. Weed whacked and blew off/cleaned up leaves and debris. Rec. Center: • Lowered flag. River Park:
• Ground Maintenance – Mowed grass area in park twice this month. Weeded red bark area across from campground and around both kiosks. • Replaced spud and vacuum breaker in restroom by first parking lot. • Posted ‘No Parking’ signs in front of RV sites at campground. • Irrigation – Repaired 4 inch main water line break. Dug out and repaired break to the back bathroom in Park. Dug up the second break, working on locating where the actual break is located. Changed out three I-90’s with bad risers. Repaired chewed wires to valves located towards the north end of the park. Located three breaks. 3 | P a g e
Repaired 2 inch main line to restrooms. Rewired valve #14 due to gopher damage (now running off the clock), gopher wired valve box back in place and replace I-40. • Replaced 30 amp outlet at Site 18 in the campground. • Removed standing water and dirt from in front of dump station and patched hole with six bags of asphalt cold patch. • Pressure washed the Wm. Bill Proud gazebo; also removed staples and nails from posts and boards. Riverbend Park:
• Ground Maintenance – Mowed the grass area in the Park twice this month. • Irrigation – Slip-fixed 3 inch lateral line in sprinkler system. Checked line and turned the water back on. • Dragged parking lot, leveling the gravel and filling in the potholes. Ryon Park: • Ground Maintenance – Mowed Old Ryon and sports fields twice this month. Rototilled and filled holes in baseball infield. Mowed, weed whacked and edged around arches on the northeast side entrance. Rototilled the sand area of playground and picked up grass. Blew out bleacher and dugout areas at baseball fields. Weed whacked fence lines around tennis courts and baseball field. • Cut sod around base lines on baseball fields and removed grass. • Removed broken hand dryer in men’s bathroom and replaced with a new one. • Installed new electrical box and wires in men’s bathroom. • Removed old exterior lights from around Park Host house and install three new security lights. • Irrigation – Performed Irrigation Check. Cleaned out around sprinkler heads and replaced two old Buckner heads and one bad I-10 with three new I-40’s. Changed one I-40 on the baseball field. • Painted all the tables at the BBQ area. • Pointed over graffiti in first outhouse/porta potty at south side baseball field. • Removed old netting from around tennis courts.

Thompson Park: • Ground Maintenance – Mowed grass area in park and sports field twice this month. • Installed a door closer on the north side bathroom. • Removed leaking valve from drinking fountain. • Replaced boards on picnic tables at BBQ pit and in picnic area. • Painted all tables and benches at BBQ pit/picnic area. • Pressure washed playground equipment in park. • Diagnosed problem with restroom door and ordered parts. Westvale Park: • Ground Maintenance – Mowed grass area in park. Various Lots & Parks Areas: • Emptied all trash cans in all parks and along walking trails multiple time per week during the month. • Park employees picked up litter and other debris in all parks and along walking trails multiple times per week during the month.
