NPS/PICTON STUD M&M Novice Ridden National Championship Open to pure bred registered M&M stallions, mares and geldings four years old or over. A pony is not eligible to compete if, before 1st January in the current year, (NB: Please note any results from 2020 are exempt) it has done any of the following: Won an open affiliated mixed M&M Ridden class Qualified for Horse of the Year Show, Olympia or RIHS M & M Open Ridden classes Qualified for the M&M Novice or Intermediate Ridden final at the NPS Summer Championship show (NB can compete as novices in this competition for two consecutive year provided they do not submit an entry to the final in the first year) 2020 is excluded when calculating consecutive years. If a pony qualifies for Horse of the Year Show, Olympia or RIHS in its second year it is immediately de-noviced and cannot compete in the Picton Final. Ponies must be shown in a snaffle . Class 26 is a qualifier for this Championship

NPS/KILMANNAN STUD M&M In Hand Silver Medal Rosette Championship The highest placed pony of each breed in classes 3,4,5,6,7,8,19 and 20 eligible A Silver Medal Rosette is offered by the National Pony Society for the best registered pony in the Overall In Hand Championship. The Sponsor’s Rosette is also awarded to the pony receiving the qualification. . NPS M&M Breed Semi-Final Championship Qualifier for the Great British In Hand Show - 18th September 2021, Kelsall Hill EC.

B.S.P.S LeMieuz Heritage Ridden Semi-Final Qualifier Ponies,owners and riders must be B.S.P.S. members before the date of the show to compete in the Liverpool classes. Classes will be judged under B.S.P.S. rules as per the 2021 B.S.P.S. rule and show handbook. Animals must be the correct height for the breed as laid down in the individual breed standard. 1st and 2nd prize winner will qualify for the semi final at the B.S.P.S. Heritage championship to be held at Arena UK.Qualification will NOT pass down the line

NPS/STANDING HAT STUD & SHOW TEAM M&M Ridden Silver Medal Rosette Championship 1st Prizewinners from classes 13,14,16,17,26 and 27 eligble for this championship A Silver Medal Rosette is offered by the National Pony Society for the best registered pony in the NPS Affiliated Ridden section.

This Show is a qualifier for the NPS SUMMER CHAMPIONSHIP SHOW to be held at Malvern on 2 August – 4 August 2022 (tbc). Highland Classes to be run under National Pony Society Rules 2021 for Breed Shows. Fell, Dales, Dartmoor, Exmoor and Shetland Classes to be run under National Pony Society Rules 2021. You do not need to be a member of The National Pony Society to compete in any class at this Show. The Rules for the NPS can be found on their website www.nationalponysociety.com. All competitors must be deemed to have read the present rules of the National Pony Society, and other relevant Native Pony Societies Rules.

NATIONAL PONY SOCIETY CLASSES NPS Mountain & Moorland Qualifying Rounds: These classes are judged under the Rules of the NPS. Ponies must be registered in the main body of their respective Mountain & Moorland Stud Books. Part- bred’s are not eligible. Qualifying rounds for most NPS competitions are open to ponies owned by NPS members and non-members and at breed shows ponies can qualify for the final even if their owners are not NPS members. The owner of a pony qualifying at a Breed Show but must become an NPS Qualifying member for the pony to enter the final at the NPS Summer Championship Show at Malvern in August 2022.

Qualification may pass down to third place if the first and second ponies are already qualified.

NPS/Rosettes Direct Home Produced Ridden Championship: Riders of Home Produced ponies (see definition in the NPS Rules Book) can wear a white arm band in classes where this is indicated. These ponies are then eligible to qualify for the final at the NPS Summer Championship Show

NPS Silver Medal Rosette Championships: These classes are judged under the Rules of the NPS. At breed shows Silver Medals may be won by non-members. The owner of a qualified pony must become an NPS Adult Qualifying or Life member to enter the final. If the Champion pony has previously qualified it is still entitled to the Silver Medal Rosette but the qualification card goes to the Reserve Champion pony. The Silver Medal Rosette and the qualification card can be awarded no lower than first Reserve (third). Foals are not eligible for Silver Medal Championships.

ANY ABUSIVE LANGUAGE or BEHAVIOUR TOWARDS SHOW OFFICIALS, ANIMALS or FELLOW COMPETITORS WILL RESULT IN EXPULSION FROM THE SHOWGROUND and by entering this Show you agree to abide by this and all of the following:

1. All persons entering the show must have Personal and Public Liability Insurance. The Highland Pony Enthusiasts Club will not be held responsible for any damage, loss or injury to any animal, person or property whilst on the showground. Under NO circumstances must anyone other than the Judge, Stewards, Competitors and grooms enter the show rings. 1. All ponies attending the show must have current equine flu vaccination and passports will be checked before ponies are unloaded. 2. The Judges’ decision is final. Any objections must be made, in writing, within one hour of the class/incident and handed to the Secretary with a deposit of £30. 3. The Club reserve the right to amalgamate, cancel or divide classes as entries warrant. 4. The Club reserve the right to return or refuse any entry made either by post, on line or on the day. 5. Ponies will be shown in accordance to the Breed Society rules. 6. Stallions may not be led or ridden by children under the age of 12 years in accordance with NPS rules. All competing Highland pony stallions (In Hand, Ridden, WHP etc) aged 4yrs and over must be licensed with the Highland Pony Society. 7. In the interest of safety, excessive assistance or interference from outside the ring will not be tolerated. 8. Any current Covid protocols will be enforced and the HPEC will not under any circumstances accept responsibility for potential effects of contracting Covid at this event .
