1. SITUATION OVERVIEW

.:. The Sulu Area Coordinat ing Center (ACC) reported that as of 3:00 PM, 16 April 2009, a total of 1,846 families / 8,594 persons from 15 barangays of Indanan and had been served by PDCC Sulu, ACC Sulu, DSWD Sulu and IPHO (1,716 fam ilies / 7,987 persons home based and 130 families / 607 persons inside evacuation centers)

.:. ACC Sulu and DSWD received report from Captain of Brgy. Bukid, Parang Sulu that there are 83 family heads IDPs in the area coming from Brgy. Tukay, Linuhu and Paugan

.:. The 130 families / 607 persons are still housed at the newly-opened evacuation centers and are still being served by PDCC and DSWD Sulu and MDCC Indanan:

From April 10 -14, 2009. a total of 928 families (home based) were served with food packs consisting of 3 kgs. rice, 3 tins sardines, 2 tins corned beef and 3 pouches noodles in 3 rations , broken down as follows :

2. HUMANITARIAN EFFORTS

Food and Non -Food Items

DSWD .:. Provided family food packs to the affected families amounting to PhP 227.533.80 .:. Prepositioned the amount of PhP1,734,472.71 as additional relief for the lOPs in Sulu Province: PhP 1.308,797.71 as standby funds; 1,500 family food packs worth PhP303,675.00, and 1,220 sacks of clothing packs worth PhP122,000.00

NDCC-OCD .:. Facilitated the release of 2,000 sacks of rice to PDCC Sulu to support the relief efforts of the LGUs: 1,000 sacks on 6 February 2009, 500 sacks on 17 March 2009, 500 sacks on 07 April 2009 .

LGUs/NGOs .:. The estimated cost of assistance provided by LGUs and NGOs to the lOPs in Sulu is PhP174,566.00: LGU Sulu - Ph166,700.00 and NGOs' assorted relief goods worth PhP7,866.00

Health. Water Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) .:. CHD-ARMM allocated assorted medicines in the Integrated Provincial Health Office in Sulu
