Cover Oregon is Oregon’s state based marketplace place where Oregonian individuals and families will be directed to Healthcare.gov to shop for health insurance and financial assistance for plans or to the Oregon Health authority to enroll into public programs such as the or Healthy Kids.

Who Can Apply?

Any Oregonian can enroll for affordable health care benefits into public and private health insurance through the online marketplace!

Why should I Apply?

Applying through the online marketplaces will allow Oregonians to choose and compare insurance plans, side by side based on the needs of you and your family and receive financial assistance.

Health insurance coverage protects you and your family from expensive medical bill and under the all health insurance plans must provide these 10 essential health benefits:

1. Preventative/wellness services 2. Emergency Services 3. Hospitalizations 4. Maternity and newborn care 5. Prescription drugs 6. Laboratory services 7. Pediatric services 8. Outpatient care 9. Mental health/Substance-use/behavioral health services 10. Rehabilitative services and devices

When can I apply?

Individuals and families can apply for health insurance coverage starting November 15, 2014 through February 15, 2015.

However, there are several exceptions to the open enrollment dates.

 Tribal members can apply for health insurance coverage anytime of the year  Individuals eligible for the Oregon Health Plan or Healthy Kids can enroll anytime of the year.  Individuals that experience life changes or event can apply within Qualify events and changes examples are: o Becoming married or divorce o Changes to your family size o Moving to a new state o Changes to your income (loosing or gaining employment)
