The sample under study contains unbalanced panel data for 75 sending countries during the period 1999-2003. Ordinary least squares (OLS) with panel-corrected standard errors (PCSE) estimation technique is used. The results suggest that the number of foreign tourists' arrivals at national borders of Ukraine depends positively on wealth of tourists (measured by GPD per capita in a sending country) and total number of tourists' departures; number of tourists' arrivals depends negatively on distance to Ukraine and visa requirements for residents of a country. The paper shows that there are region-specific effects determining demand for Ukrainian tourism services: while CIS countries' citizens are more inclined to visit Ukraine than the others, EU15 inhabitants are reluctant to spend vocations in Ukraine compared to the others. The paper suggests abolishing visa requirements for world greatest traveling nations and discusses recent realization of this recommendation by Ukrainian government. -

Development of the tourism sector depends on the infrastructure and an efficient transportation system. A better transport infrastructure results in lower transportation costs and thus lower variable costs of trading, and shortens the distance between origin and destination countries, which can stimulate international tourism flows. Significant improvements in the accessibility of general transport infrastructure (road and air) in Poland within other factors have potentially their effect on foreign inbound tourism. Research aims. The aim of this article is to determine the importance of transport infrastructure among other classical factors of a gravity model influencing foreign inbound tourism to Poland (such as geographic and economic distance from tourism origin countries, or perceived risk factors in the origin countries, like terrorism and economic crises). Methodology. The study is based on panel data of bilateral tourism flows in the period 2008–2016 from 33 countries trading with Poland. We applied a gravity model for international tourism flows considering four different sub-panels (disaggregated by countries and time) in order to control the role of infrastructure in various data sets. Key findings. The results show that the level of transport infrastructure develop- ment – measured both directly and indirectly – has a significant impact on foreign inbound tourism to Poland. -

Investigated the state role in the formation of regulation mechanism of Ukrainian tourist services market. In the article described the organizational framework of the tourism industry of Ukraine and analyzed the levels of appropriate control system. INTRODUCTION At present, the tourism industry has become one of the leading and the most dynamic sectors of the economy of many countries. Tourism affects the development of such sectors as trade, transport, construction, agriculture; provides employment growth and acts as a catalyst of socio-economic development of the country. To date, Ukraine, with its huge tourist potential, has rather small share of the world tourism market. The complexity of modern socio-economic status, its instability coupled with the need for economic reform significantly affects the development of the tourism industry. Highly uncertain market environment, the seasonal volatility of demand for tourism services, intense competition in the travel industry, the lack of financial resources, lack of proper customer focus, the poor quality of the tourism product and others factors are sources of increased regulatory complexity of tourism business. A necessary condition for the development of tourism has become a strategic approach that should be embodied in the program of action specifying the objectives and means of implementing the necessary public policy. -

The armed conflict that evolved in Ukraine in late 2013 and early 2014 spread like wildfire all over the world. International mass elucidated the theme on a daily basis. These events caused a mass of senseless fatalities, this problem is practically unresolved to date, and as a result, the country fell into a deep economic recession. This shook the country population’s sense of security and immediately did away with inbound tourist traffic. This study shows the concrete or secondary influence of the Ukrainian “hybrid war” and the events that followed it on the country’s tourism. This paper shows the changes that occurred in the field of tourism based on the available statistical data. I specifically compared the 2013 statistical data prior to the armed conflict with those of 2017 characterized by stagnation of the conflict intensity; in some cases I present even more recent data. -

The development of local activities combining traditional food and tourism becomes an investment for the future with both the concept of sustainable gastronomy and agriculture sustainability, and helps in the development of local entrepreneurship in rural areas. The European Union has introduced provisions for the protection of traditional and regional food that can be used to create a variety of tourist products. Currently, tourists are looking for unique local products. More and more people travel because of culinary motifs, and local products, dishes and local processors can become an attraction in these places. This paper presents the idea of ‘The Best Pork of Wielkopolska’ culinary trail, which is based on a local product from Wielkopolska, in Poland—the native breed of pig—the Złotnicka White pig. The rapid development of culinary tourism means that tourists are looking for offers in this area. -

Religious Tourism in Ukraine Anastasia Riabenka, Lyudmyla Yurchuk National University of Food Technologies Introduction. There is a suggestion in the religious world, that prayer is more effective in certain places, in one way or another connected with the history of religion and the blessing of God in the search for a long time the faithful go to pilgrimage tours. Pilgrims visit not only temples, churches, monasteries, and holy rivers, lakes, etc. Religious tourism also commonly referred to as faith tourism, is a type of tourism, where people travel individually or in groups for pilgrimage or leisure (fellowship) purposes. Modern religious tourists are more able to visit holy cities and around the world. The most famous holy cities are Mecca, Madinah, Karbala, Jerusalem and Varanasi. In the research used analysis method and historical method. In a separate area of tourism pilgrimage tours to Ukraine stood out recently. However, the Ukrainian lands can be rightfully called the cradle of Orthodoxy. Since ancient times, there was built a great number of churches, cathedrals and monasteries of great beauty with a high dome and bells. Organization of international pilgrimage tourism in Ukraine is significantly inhibited by the presence of numerous problems, the solution of which is the case of the state, all organizations and institutions involved in tourism. Regions of international pilgrimage tourism can and should be Prykarpattya and Transcarpathia related to culture and memorable places of the peoples related with Catholicism, Judaism, Armenian Church. Kiev, Chernigov, Odessa, Poltava and many other cities are carriers not only of the Christian monoculture and poly-culture both in the pas and in our days. -

Трамвайна, 16, 50005 Abstract. The article explores the content of the concept of "ethno-hotel" as a new trend of the Ukrainian hospitality industry. The essence of ethno-tourism is revealed, the analysis of the current state of ethno-tourism in Ukraine, the typical ethno-regions of Ukraine are determined and new perspectives of its development in the context of the development of ethnic tourism are proposed. It is determined that the scientific literature lacks a clear understanding of the criteria and requirements for the design and operation of ethnic hotels. The criteria and requirements for the design of ethno-hotels that can be used in the practical activity of the establishments of the hotel and restaurant industry are developed. Key words: ethno-tourism, ethno-hotels, state ethno-cultural policy, market of Ukrainian ethno-tourism, requirements for ethno-bodies. Ukraine has all the necessary potential components for the development of the modern tourism industry, namely: unique geographical, natural-climatic, historical- cultural and national-ethnographic resources.
