Now and then? The 2012 Ottawa Valley Farm Show is scheduled to take place at the yet-to-be constructed Capital Exhibition Centre at the Ottawa International Airport. With the 2011 event being the last at the central Ottawa location, the OVFS board has big plans before it goes into transition mode. Van Dusen said more than 300 exhibitors will take part this year, occupying space inside all available buildings. As well, about 20 new additions will be part of the show, he added. “In terms of space occupied, we’re the largest show held annually in the nation’s capital, which is kind of ironic when you consider we’re all about rural products and services,” said Van Dusen. The 2011 event is scheduled to take place Tues., March 15 to Thurs., March 17 at Lansdowne Park. This year’s 84th edition of the OVFS will be the last at the facility in central Ottawa.
