These country studies illustrate the importance of adopting a flexible approach to the assessment of climate change impacts and adaptations. While the UNEP Handbook on Methods served as a common reference for the study teams, each team found it necessary to adapt these methods – sometimes to a considerable extent – to meet the specific needs of the country. Moreover, two of the country studies (Estonia and Pakistan) were able to build on previous work on climate impacts, while the other two (Antigua and Barbuda and Cameroon) broke new ground. The studies provide a basic foundation for understanding the potential impacts of climate change and the adaptation measures necessary to address them. They indicate the scope of the problems in each of the countries studied, as well as the direction adaptation studies should take. Most importantly, they demonstrate that while each country has a unique set of problems and strategies, all countries will benefit from long-term sustainable development. • DESPAIR” VIDEO SHOT ATOP the EMPIRE STATE BUILDING NSFW If Afraid of Heights Video Co-Produced and Premiered by Noisey
For Immediate Release: June 24, 2013 YEAH YEAH YEAHS “DESPAIR” VIDEO SHOT ATOP THE EMPIRE STATE BUILDING NSFW if Afraid of Heights Video Co-Produced and Premiered by Noisey ( Credit: Patrick Daughters) New York, NY…June 24…The Yeah Yeah Yeahs reach new heights today with the video for their new single “Despair.” Skyscraper heights. 102-story, 443-meter, Empire State Building heights, to be exact. "There's been a lot of career highs and lows over the years of being in a band, but in the end, how many can say they shot a video on the top of the Empire State Building? We win,” says singer Karen O. “Move out the way, King Kong, Yeah Yeah Yeahs are gonna get real with you up in this piece!” “Despair” is the second single off the NYC-based trio’s album Mosquito (Interscope), which entered the Billboard Top 200 this April at #5. The concept for the video came courtesy of Noisey.com, who decided they wanted to co-produce a video for the band’s single by pairing New York’s quintessential landmark with New York’s quintessential band. However, until now, no band had ever shot a video atop the World’s Most Famous Building. ”The Empire State Building’s iconographic presence is not limited to any date or age. We are happy to offer our magical canvas, the real magic of the real New York City, to this video,” says Anthony E. Malkin of Malkin Holdings. “Big bands deserve big ideas. So, when Noisey was given the challenge to come up with a big idea for a new Yeah Yeah Yeahs video, we jokingly said… ‘let's get them to play on top of the Empire State Building!!’ Then we said, ‘actually…wait, why not!?’ We called the Empire State Building and not only were they into it, they were a pleasure to work with.

Nouse Web Archives Album Review: Karen O – Crush Songs Page 1 of 3 News Comment MUSE. Politics Business Science Sport Roses Freshers Muse › Music › News Features Reviews Playlists Album Review: Karen O – Crush Songs Karen O makes a sterling effort on her debut album as a solo act, but doesn’t quite nail it By Hatti Linnell, Advertising Director (2014/15) Thursday 11 September 2014 We are used to seeing Karen Orzolek (usually known as Karen O) belting out the anthemic chorus of ‘Gold Lion’ or the weird yet wonderful ‘Sacrilege’ in her role as the lead singer in the American band, Yeah Yeah Yeahs. As one of my favourite front women in music today (it’s Karen over Hayley Williams any day of the week), I was excited to hear her solo effort but simultaneously concerned that she wouldn’t shine as much without the creative input of Zinner and Chase. Other than having a name unappealing to anyone over the age of 15, Crush Songs begins well. ‘Ooo’ is quite short, you might think, holding the unsatisfying property of ending almost before it has begun. Unfortunately, this theme becomes a constant in the album. ‘Rapt’ is beautiful and really shows off Orzolek’s songwriting skill.
