Principal School of the Arts – (CSArts-SGV) shares its mission with its founding campus, the award- Gregory Endelman, Ed.D. winning Orange County School of the Arts (OCSA). CSArts-SGV provides an unparalleled arts and academic education in a creative, challenging, and nurturing environment to a diverse student body passionate about the arts, preparing them Dean of Arts to reach their highest potential. Stephen Cook, D.M.A. CSArts-SGV is the first regional campus to open in a network of public charter schools created by the California School Assistant Principal of the Arts Foundation, founded to establish and operate high-achieving, comprehensive public charter arts schools Abbe Levine based on OCSA’s successful business and curriculum models. CSArts-SGV opened in August 2017 and currently serves Assistant Principal approximately 1,200 students in grades 7-12. In an exciting community partnership, students in grades 7-8 receive their Nicole Read academic instruction through the Duarte Unified School District (DUSD) and their arts classes through the CSArts-SGV conservatory program. Beginning in grade 9, students attend classes full-time on the CSArts-SGV campus. Students take three 90-minute FACULTY classes daily, and each class block meets every other day. • All academic teachers are fully credentialed • Majority of 200 arts and academic teachers hold advanced • The arts conservatory program consists of either one or two 65-minute classes, four days a week. Middle school degrees students attend one block each day (except for Thursdays, on which they have a double block), while high school • Guest artists and industry leaders share expertise and creativity with students through lectures, presentations, students attend two blocks each day. These pre-professional arts courses vary in content, day, and block based and hands-on training on conservatory.

Thirty-two credits of conservatory courses are required each year of all students in grades 9-12 from one of the following conservatories: Acting, Ballet & Contemporary Dance, Commercial Dance, Creative Writing, Instrumental Music, Integrated Arts, Musical Theatre, Production & Design, Visual Arts, or Vocal Arts.
