1 Fact one: Wisconsin law prohibits any old appliances from being disposed of in landfills. 2 Fact Two: Department of Public Works does not collect appliances at curb/alley line.

How to recycle your appliances If you have any of the following appliances, they contain “” or other materials classified as hazardous: u u Microwave u u Freezer u Air conditioner Please call the Department of Public Works at 636-9126 for a listing of businesses who are certified to pick-up, transport and remove the materials safely from the appliance.

If you have one or more of the following appliances: u Stove u Range u u Washer u Dryer u Hot water heater Please call the Department of Public Works at 636-9126 for a listing of businesses* that will pick up your appliance at your home. Or bring the appliance to the Pearl Street Facility located at 9th and Pearl Street on Saturday from 9am to 4:45pm from early April until early November. *Be sure to ask the cost of providing these services.
