Monday 27 April Arrive Felixstowe to collect your bike ******** see page 3 Or any day which suits you to get the the TT ferry on time.

We will provide clear written instructions on the best and cheapest way to get from London Heathrow airport to Felixstowe.

In Felixstowe you’ll collect your bike, Insurance and Customs documents, reconnect your bikes battery, check your bike over before packing your luggage and departing after refuelling and checking tyre pressures at the nearest servo.

PLEASE NOTE: We strongly recommend you stay one or two nights in Felixstowe before collecting your bike. After a 23 hour overnight flight from Australia to London the last thing you need is an accident due to tiredness. Why not stay a night and get a good night’s sleep after a couple of pints? – Felixstowe is a relatively quiet place, but we’ll show you a couple of good pubs and restaurants to enjoy while you’re there.

You can ride your bike in the UK/Europe on your Australian Registration plate for up to 6 months (subject to your Aussie rego being current for that time) and using your current Australian licence for up to 3 months. An International Driving Permit (for up to 12 months) is advisable if you’re riding in Europe - the IDP is necessary if you’re touring Europe because it’s a translation of your Aussie licence in several European languages.

Tuesday 28 April At this time you start the self guided portion of your tour with the intention to arrive at Liverpool on Saturday 30 May to catch the Isle of Man ferry to Douglas.

Some people want to go to Ireland at this time.

The North West 200 at Coleraine, Port Rush & Port Stewart in Northern Ireland is usually on the 3rd or 4th Saturday of May. This is a huge road race meet and probably second only to the TT in terms of the crowd who spectate. Racers use it as preparation for the TT.

Saturday 30 May Ride to Liverpool to catch the Steam Packet ferry to Douglas, IoM.

DON’T BE LATE FOR THE FERRY – THEY DON’T WAIT!!

We will be there at the Douglas, IoM ferry terminal to meet you and escort you to your accommodation.

14 nights on IoM – Manx owned houses have been leased on a self catering basis and will be shared by tour group members. Couples will have the privacy of double rooms (ensuite in some houses) and single men will be sharing twin rooms – some houses have single rooms and it’s first in first served for those. All of the houses are of a high standard and include beds with linen & towels supplied and all normal household facilities including fully equipped kitchen, laundry, lounge etc. Each house will be in excellent clean condition when you arrive and it is expected you will leave the house in the same condition when you depart. We will inspect them with the owners after you’ve departed.

TT Tickets: There is no charge to watch the TT from the many vantage points around the circuit. However, there is a grandstand at the start/finish line and several around the circuit - it is possible to buy a seat ticket each race day and it’s best done on line in advance.

Monday 13 July Take bike to Felixstowe depot (no later than 9am please) for loading into container People wanting a September return shipping date will have make a note of that on the Reservation form – both shipping dates are subject to minimum numbers We need a minimum of 10 bikes for any return shipment so if there’s 6 bikes going to Sydney, 2 bikes to Brisbane and 2 bike going to Melbourne the container will go to Sydney and it’s the owners responsibility to retrieve the bikes from Sydney.

Price of this Felixstowe shipping service will be $7436.00 That’s for a bike and rider. (Includes accommodation & ferry tickets)

Single Supplement $2190 Pillion cost is $2535.00

If you want the bike shipped to Athens or Barcelona: Add $480.00

Travel insurance costs are not included in these prices but it is strongly recommended that all tour participants take suitable cover prior to departure. If you want different dates to those shown on this itinerary your bike can be stored before you collect it or until the return loading date. Storage will be £15 per week per bike – payable in advance direct to Jo Smith of Grace Global Forwarding Ltd.

This arrangement is for people who are unable to stay away from Australia for the whole time from Monday 27 April till Monday 13 July. Bear in mind this is a 11 week stay and some people may not wish to have such a long holiday. Most of our clients do make the most of this 11 week trip as it’s likely to be the only one they do in a lifetime.

TERMS and CONDITIONS for shipping bikes to and from Felixstowe

Wearing Hi Viz vests in all our loading and unloading depots is compulsory.

Failure to read, understand and act upon these Terms and Conditions could cause you considerable heartache and expense!!

1. Bike Cleanliness. Your bike must be spotless when packed into the container - this is an Australian Government Quarantine Service requirement. It is your responsibility to arrange cleaning of your bike prior to the return journey.

2. PETROL TANKS must have less than 2 litres of fuel. Bikes must be in NEUTRAL and UNLOCKED. YOU KEEP THE KEYS!!

3. All bikes must have their BATTERY LEADS DISCONNECTED and Terminals and LEADS TAPED prior to shipping in Australia and Felixstowe. This is your responsibility.

4. All Removable Panniers must be disconnected from the bike prior to loading, but they will be carried in the container - UNLOCKED and an ABSOLUTE MAXIMUM OF 3 ITEMS PER BIKE . If you leave them locked you will be charged for the time taken to retrieve your keys from you to unload them. We will take all care possible but are not responsible for any damage during shipping so please wrap appropriately. And label them. Name & Bike rego. Suggestion - Use 2 or 3 layers of plastic Bubble wrap.

5. These prices are valid from 1 December 2016 and are based on current freight rates, exchange rates and other cost components at that time. Any cost increases will be passed on when invoices are prepared in January 2020.

6. It is each rider’s responsibility to be at the Felixstowe depot on or before the return loading date & time provided. The Felixstowe DEPOT address will be supplied with the invoice.

7. We will organise the Customs clearances, all paperwork and loading/unloading of the container.

8. Your $2000 (per person) deposit is NON REFUNDABLE. We may be able to roll it over to a later tour/shipment or refund it if you can encourage someone else to take your place, obviously at the discretion of Get Routed.

9. We require your bike approx 4 days prior to the shipping date and shipment of your bike from Australia is 36 - 44 days. You will be advised exact dates and the address to deliver your bike to the Melbourne/Sydney/Brisbane depot when we send the invoice.

10 Bookings will not be accepted without a deposit ($2000 per person) and a completed RESERVATION FORM.

11. The balance of the cost is due not later than 1 month prior to the SHIPPING DATE of your bike. An invoice will be sent.

12. Reservations will not be accepted within 6 weeks of a shipping date except under exceptional circumstances such as a cancellation.

13. Your passport will be needed to provide proof of ownership to depot staff in Felixstowe to collect your bike This is required to ensure no one else has access to your bike in our Felixstowe depot. Without your passport no one can claim your bike.

14. If you pack your Jacket, Riding pants, Gloves, Boots & Helmet etc into your panniers please make sure they are packed dry. If there’s any moisture there could be mushrooms and/or other mould in your gear when you unpack it. Don’t blame us if this happens to you.

15. We need a minimum of 10 bikes for any return shipment so if there’s 6 bikes going to Sydney, 2 bikes to Brisbane and 2 bikes going to Melbourne the container will go to Sydney and it’s the owners responsibility to retrieve the bikes from Sydney.

DAMAGE TO MOTORCYCLES and ACCESSORIES As part of our agreement with you we will make good Loss or Damage that occurs to your Bike or included accessories in excess of an amount of $250.00, which is your responsibility. The Loss or Damage that we accept is any Loss or Damage, or other Liability that may arise from the voyage, which would be covered by Marine Insurance Institute Cargo Clauses “A”. In other words, we have insurance in place to cover us and our liability in respect of all bikes in the shipment and the excess, should there be a claim, is your responsibility.

Costs include container lease, loading and unloading, sea freight both ways, transport from ship to storage area at each end, transport from storage area to ship at each end, the use of bike specific cradles and tiedowns, Customs and Quarantine clearance at both ends, secure storage of all bikes prior to your arrival, (it is simply not possible to have the container arrive the same day you arrive), agency fees, storage handling fees and wharf handling fees.
