EMIRATES RETURNS PROGRAM EAUSOS PARTNER SUMMIT NOVEMBER 2013

©2012 Emirates. All Rights Reserved. 2012 EMIRATES CSR PROGRAM

• In 2012 Emirates activated the Racquet Return Program

• The idea around Racquet Return is that fans could donate their gently used racquets, and then Emirates would refurbish them and donate them back to the charities associated with USTA Serves

• A total of 1000 racquets were collected at the Farmer’s Classic, Rogers Cup, New Haven Open, and the US Open

• After the racquets collected at the US Open and New Haven Open were refurbished, Emirates held a clinic for the kids and surprised them with the donation of the new racquets

2012 EMIRATES CSR PROGRAM LEARNINGS

• Most charities need junior racquets as opposed to adult racquets donated

• Fans didn’t want to carry racquets to the events

• A lot of the racquets donated were in poor condition and could not be refurbished

• The charities had bigger needs than racquets for their youth tennis programming

• Emirates could spend dollars on items and programming that the charities need instead of on the refurbishment of the racquets

2013 CSR PROGRAM STRATEGY

• Emirates wanted to create a program that capitalized on the successes and key learnings from year one of the partnership

• We spoke with the USTA & USTA Serves and determined the best way to support youth tennis initiatives in the US is to do the following:

• Provide junior tennis equipment including racquets, balls, Quickstart nets, and other teaching tools

• Allocate dollars towards tennis programming

• Partner with local charities in each of the EAUSOS cities and at the US Open

• Provide the children with positive tennis experiences and access to the events
